This guesthouse is not fit for business. I had such an awful experience there. It started from the day I arrived. Nobody was there to let me in,although they knew my arrival time and date. I hung around the bar opposite for a few hours and still nobody had arrived. I was calling and no answer. I waited from about 4pm and by midnight there was someone there to let me in.Claudia did not open the door it was a man called Sam. In additon, the room was dirty and so was the bathroom. There are 2 cats and a dog which live at the house, which I was not aware of. I have a phobia of dogs and cats. The next day Claudia was apparently out, so I asked Sam to tell her about the dirty bathroom and bedroom as she was not responding to my phone calls. I also sent a message to Claudia via Expedia about it, but she still did not reply. There was also a breach of security that same day.Claudia failed to give a feasible explanation as to why the other door in my ensuite bathroom was open when it was 100% locked the night I arrived. She came in and closed it without stating why it was open( she claimed that she didn't know why). I asked her what it was connected to and she said her bedroom. This was my first time meeting Claudia and she appeared unfriendly towards me. The door being open in the bathroom made me want to leave even more so. I told her about the dirt and she was nonchalant. I was waiting for my cousin to arrive to St.Lucia and first thing Monday morning we left the guesthouse.
Perfect location next to a gorgeous scenic beach perfect for the ideal photographic beach shot or for swimming with their white sand beach. Great price, clean room. A fan instead of a/c was adequate, price of less than $50 for this beach close room was great
Perfect location for a low budget. Beach, bus stop, banking and shopping facilities within walking distance.
A variety of inexpensive food.
The owner Claudia is very friendly and helpful and knows the island very well.
We planned to stay here for two nights of our week long trip. We only stayed a few hours before packing up and leaving. We chose this location because of the location (close to the water, in town) and thought the place looked nice enough in the description, but we were wrong.
There isn't any air conditioning and ventilation is about non-existent. It was definitely warmer in the room than outside, even with the window open and fan blowing. There is a mosquito net, but the only place we dealt with bugs the entire trip was in this room. The location is right next to the Gros Islet street party location so it would have been noisy at night, especially on the weekend. The only window faces the street, so privacy is lacking. The bed was just a 2" thick foam pad and not comfortable. There is barely any room to move around the room with luggage in the way. There aren't any 120V outlets, but we didn't ask for an adapter. The closest beach is covered in trash and broken glass.
We ended up going back to Flamboyant Villa for the two nights we had planned to stay here.
