This ryokan impressed me with its charm and genuine staff. We booked a bit late so had to get two smaller rooms for our family of 4, but everyone slept so solidly. The mats/mattresses and comforters are so comfortable. My husband wanted to stay at a ryokan because âwe can stay at a Hyatt anywhere in the world, letâs do something differentâ. We ate the traditional breakfasts there wearing our yukatas, we all utilized the onsens, the staff was incredibly helpful with calling taxis, calling ahead to a golf range, in general arranging just about anything. There is simply an endearing charm in a small business serving travelers from around the world. It feels intimate and I was never more sad to leave. Do try the matcha tea ceremony in the mornings; it was educational and my family enjoyed it thoroughly. There are some great restaurants right on the street, and it is extremely close to the main shopping streets. We walked to Pontcho Alley for dinner one night and explored the surrounding areas. Kyoto is magical and my husband, myself and my 2 sons highly recommend this ryokan. I would definitely return.
The staff was super accommodating and so friendly and the location was perfect - slightly off the beaten path but close enough to the fun! I 1000% would stay here again. The rooms were also spotless and they had some fun events going on! 5/5
The room was beautiful and clean. The staff were lovely! I loved the Japanese style breakfast we had! It was really nice that they also had activities, I was able to participate in a green tea ceremony. It was close to shopping and food nearby. I love to stay here again.
A bit off the main attraction of the city. Hotel has room smaller than most ryokans we stayed in. Service was superb and staff is very friendly. Tea ceremony here was performed beautifully.
Beautiful hotel with lovely garden and onsen. Service was excellent, very welcoming and friendly. Enjoyed the free drinks in the lobby. Excellent location with lots of restaurants on the doorstep. Room was spacious and traditional, a lovely experience. Also had a very good in-room massage too
This was our first ryokan experience and everyone in our family loved it. We ordered special vegetarian breakfast for us and it was delicious, and served in authentic Japanese way. Thank you to courteous hotel staff for attending to our questions and special requests. We will recommend this ryokan for easy access to shopping and restaurant areas
Such a lovely experience at a wonderful Ryokan, the staff was amazing and we took the daily breakfast option and the food and service was really amazing. Would highly recommend
An absolutely amazing ryokan with excellent staff, a beautiful downstairs area, delicious breakfast and powerful A/C in the summer. Very comfortable mattresses and a generally relaxing atmosphere. Cultural activities available daily and very friendly hotel folks to help with your every question and need. My 9-year old son and I loved staying here. Highly recommend!
