Good location

The hostel is located near lots of bars, restaurants and transportation. Staff is very friendly. Room was clean but too small.

Cool Clean Comfort

I will miss this hostel and the neighborhood will definitely stay here again if i come back and recommend it to friends. Staff are very pleasant helpful and accomodating always available 24 hrs round the clock. Clean room, bed and bathrooms. Our room is on the top floors with balcony, at the back and inner street. Its very quiet during day and lots of party noise late at night. But its not really a problem if you close the windows and use the A/C.

Clean basic hostel with poor wifi

I stayed here for three nights. When I booked the room I wasn't aware of the fact that Barrio Alto is the #1 party district in Lisbon, and that this hostel is in one of the busiest areas of this district. Besides the fact that the noise made it somewhat difficult to fall asleep, I was very pleased with my stay. Sure, this is a pretty basic hostel but everything was clean, the staff was very friendly and helpful, and I had a good time staying here. Breakfast was included in the price. It was somewhat on the basic side (bread, jam, ham, cheese, milk and coffee). But again, considering the price, this was expected. What was offered was tasty and fresh. The biggest negative point for me was that the wifi was extremely slow and unreliable. While basic messaging, browsing lightweight sites and email was doable anything else, like uploading photos to a blog, was more or less impossible.

small, uncomfortable, but ok to sleep after 2AM.

Ran out of hot water mid-shower. Apparently there is limited hot water in the hostel. If you want to get some sleep early, this isn't the place for you, there are 3-4 bars pretty much right below it, which I knew about so it's not really the hostel's fault. People are drinking in the streets so it's extra noisy, but the bars close at 2 and it's silent after 2:30AM. I had a single room on the top floor. No lift so lots of stairs, the room was really really tiny! I personally didn't care too much since I knew it was just for sleeping, but yes, it was very small. Also the bed was really uncomfortable! Quite hard actually.

Amazing staff...noise outside a bit of a nightmare

It is hard to rate this hostel. It is extremely clean, the staff are beyond exceptional, and they even provide a decent breakfast. However, it is located in Lisbon party central. The staff do whatever they can to prevent inconsiderate, immature and drunk morons from bringing their noise inside, but the party outside continues until Four AM and you can only sleep if you have industrial earplugs. This is NOT the fault of the Hostel. I would stay here in the low season most certainly due to the cleanliness and proximity to the sites. And, of course, the owner and his staff are helpful, accommodating and very welcoming.

Old building in narrow street. Near Theatre Trinidad. Near centre shopping area. Many bars and eateries. No elevator. Staff fairly helpful. No towels or soap supplied. Comfortable bunk beds. Warm enough. Not noisy.

nice hostel in the historical part of the city

we were definitely in the middle of everything we wanted to see and do here. If I go back to Lisbon, I will stay here again

In the heart of Bairro Alto

Very pleasant experience staying at this hostel. At the top of the hill in Bairro Alto with an amazing view of the city (called a Miradoura) located right across the street. Room was very small as I had a private room with a bunk bed and shared bathroom services, but if you're looking for a cheap, convenient location to stay in the heart of the nightlife of the city... This is the place for you. My room was remarkably quiet from the street noise that transpires very late at night in this location. Pedro and Lourdes were very friendly and helpful at the front desk. Would recommend to solo or group travelers looking to indulge in the nightlife, don't mind walking up and downhill getting around Lisbon, and don't mind the expected noise that comes with Bairro Alto.

Excellent!

Excellent place to stay! The hotel staff is absolutely FANTASTIC. Very nice, very helpful, very accommodating. The hotel location is in a very good location - less than a 10 minute walk to the city center / metro line. It is quite loud at night because you are located right in the center of the bar scene, so great for students. Towels are not provided but only cost 1 euro. The included breakfast is great!

Ottima struttura, molto comoda per il centro e silenziosa nonostante sia nel cuore della movida di Lisbona, a due passi da un bellissimo miradouro. Il personale è gentilissimo e disponibile e i bagni, anche se in comune, sono molto puliti; inoltre ce ne sono diversi per piano e non si rischia di dover far la coda. Non portate valigie troppo pesanti però, le scale possono essere un po' ostiche.

Las habitaciones son pequeñas, pero están limpias:los baños son compartidos, pero hay suficientes para todos ls huéspedes de la planta, en 5 días no tuvimos que esperar ni una vez, y también están limpios. La ubicación es excelente, y aunque hay mucho ruido en la calle por la noche, las dobles ventanas lo hacen casi inaudible. Pero sin duda lo mejor es el personal del hostel, muy simpáticos y atentos, nos orientaron y aconsejaron perfectamente, además de prestarnos alguna cosa. Calidad-precio inmejorable.

Le logement était bien. Les salles de bains sont communes mais il n’y a pas d’attente pour y accéder. Le petit déjeuner est simple mais bon. Quant à l’acceuil, il n’y a rien à redire. L’hostel a un super emplacement.

Nous y sommes resté 5 jours. Super implantation, les lits sont très confortables. On y dors très bien. Les salles de bain spacieuses et toilettes .(2 sdb /toilette + 1 toilette pour 5 chambre ) toujours nickel à croire qu'il passent après chaque passage. On entend les bruits dans le couloir mais ça n'empêche pas de dormir vu ce qu'on marche ! Peut être dérangeant pour les sommeil très léger. Il y a un bar à côté de l'hôtel, le soir c'est la fiesta mais avec les 2 fenetres doubles vitrées ça nous a bercé + plus que dérangé. Le seul bémol c'est qu'une table de chevet de chaque côté aurait été apprécié pour poser ses affaires (il y en a qu'une + 1 porte manteau sur la porte + un portique avec quelques cintres). Le personnel est très accueillants toujours près a vous renseigner, bilingue et certains ont quelques notions de français vraiment sympatique. Le petit dej dimple est proposé en plus sur place. Mais nous ne l'avons pas pris pour aller nous goinfrer des pasteis chez Manteigaria ;-) Si vous cherchez un lit confortable, une sdb nickel et découvrir la ville de Lisbonne Cascais et Sintra . C'est le bon endroit !
