Was surprised at the $250 hold on my credit card, it wasn’t disclosed until after I booked. Same with the construction that was going on across the street. But the hotel itself is nice and clean. Enjoyed the coffee machine in the lobby. The staff was extremely polite and friendly.

The overall appearance and condition of the hotel was run down and tired. The beds were uncomfortable and the A.C. Unit clicked all night and did not hold the temperature. There were absolutely zero amenities.

Perfect place to stay when going to Universal Studios. Super cute hotel. Private parking garage (small), clean room and AC worked great. Dorm size fridge. No freezer, pool, jacuzzi, or complementary breakfast, in case that’s what you’re looking for. Would definitely stay here again! Loved it!

This is my second time staying at the Lexen, and unfortunately, there were two things that made this day, either less enjoyable or more concerning than the last. The first is that the key card to our room was disabled every night. The front desk insisted it was my cell phone or a debit card that was somehow demagnetizing the key card, despite the fact that I was carrying the card completely separate from either of those I ended up having to go to the desk, two separate times to ask for my keys to be reactivated or new keys to be issued. The second thing is more of a safety concern. I came down at 6 AM on Sunday morning and found that the automatic sliding doors to the parking area were not only disabled, but physically locked. I found the night tenant dozing off in the café area and he came and unlocked the door to let me out. I walked to a coffee shop and within 30 minutes was back to find that I was locked out of the same entrance because he had re-locked the sliding doors. I knocked on the doors and saw him come out of the same area he had been sleeping in before. I confronted him about this and he stated he just doesn’t like leaving those unlocked. The entrance states it is to remain unlocked and violation is against fire code.

Upon arrival I noticed the sheets were not clean I had to ask for new ones. The terrace is nothing like pictured, there’s no turf, no umbrellas, and the couch out there is dirty with some missing cushions. The living room space within the room also now has no coffee table to area rug so it’s just a cold floor with a couple chairs next to the couch. They should have more transparent photos, but if they improved all of those things it would have been a much better stay. The location isn’t great but it’s a place to stay if needed for NoHo.

Good spot for a visit to Universal Studios. We saw reviews complaining about construction noise. It was quite while we were there but we saw the site across the street. Staff was very nice and helpful.
