How close is PLAZA MAYOR groups by MONARO***** to downtown Madrid?
Enjoyed our short stay in Madrid in this comfortable property. Accurate information regarding the stairs...not for the weak or infirm. We endured the stairs with our mountain of luggage and the view and location were worth it. All the necessities and some luxuries as well. Nearby grocery for staples like milk and fresh items. A/C, hot water and cleanliness galore. Recommend the Tuk Tuk tour for a quick tour of the area if you are pinched for time. Amazonia Madrid and morning mimosas for breakfast right across the Plaza. They open at 7am if you have an early flight out! Would definitely stay here again.
You could not ask for a better location for a stay in Madrid. Right across from Mercado de
San Miguel and part of Plaza Mayor, you have an amazing view with plenty of food options.
The property itself is all updated and new. There is air conditioning in every room and the beds are clean and comfortable. There is a washing machine, but no clothesline so youâll need to use the hangers provided in the rooms.
The place was perfect for our family and there was plenty of room.
However, be aware this is an old building, which in itself is beautiful, but that the fantastic view comes with 108 stairs to get there. We were not aware of this and had to bring up large bags of luggage, which was not an easy feat. If you are traveling with a small bag or backpack, this wonât be an issue. Monaro also owns other properties in this building on lower floors, so that could also be an option.
The property manager was responsive and easy to get in touch with when we needed her, and the check in process was online, which made it easy.
We loved our trip and our stay and would definitely recommend it to others if you donât mind a climb!
