New Home w Expansive Ocean and Sunset Views, Steps to the Seal Cove Beach
A great place to 'shelter in place. Beautiful views, scenic hikes on quiet trails, tide pool exploration.
Moss Beach is 18 miles to San Francisco and 22 miles to Silcone Valley where you will find tech companies and business people. This is a great place to rent if you are here for work. Work hard all day and relax at night while listening to the waves steps from the house.
Newly rebuilt house above Seal Cove Beach. 2 bedrooms, 2 full baths and a large great room. Large deck with expansive ocean views. Beach access and beautiful Fitzpatrick Marine Reserve Park one block north of house. Two bed, two bath with large living area and brand new kitchen. Same great views from the two bed rooms and the large central living area. WiFi, 2 TV's, ample street parking. Moss Beach is between Pacifica and Half Moon Bay with great beaches, hiking and lots of activities near by for the whole family. Fifteen minute drive to San Francisco. Very short walk to the Moss Beach Brewery, voted best restaurant at Half Moon Bay. Truly elegantly furnished. Living room couch by Design Within Reach. Casper mattresses. Case Study bed. Hand made oriental carpets and high end kitchen fixtures.
Excellent location, between our two favorite places, Pacifica and Half Moon Bay. Next door is our favorite restaurant, The Distillery. You can see and hear the ocean from all the rooms including the large outdoor patio. Entire home was handicap friendly with exception of lower level patio. We were pleasantly greeted with lit fireplace, candles and lavendar difuser (all battery/electronically operated). The beds were comfortable and everything tastefully furnished. This will be our "Go To" vacation rental!
The Moss Beach/Half Moon Bay area was filled with beaches, costal hikes, ocean boating, shopping, quality restaurants and live music to enjoy which we did! WiFi at the property was rarely available throughout our 3 night weekend stay. This property is not exactly as represented in the photos however. It is directly next door to a very busy local restaurant and public parking to the restaurant and seal cove overlook is 10 steps away from the front door. Itâs a very heavy traffic area. The inside is adequate and basic. There is a futon extra bed but it has a metal bar throughout the middle of it which was very uncomfortable. The outdoor deck is comfortable and the view is nice but the noise from the restaurant next door permeates the outdoor deck area. The property was a bit unkempt and is showing wear, scuff marks on the walls, piles of weeds and trash left behind outside. There was damp laundry left behind from previous guests in the dryer. When we needed to contact the host, Wifi was unavailable as mentioned earlier in this review. It was a convenient location, The extra toothbrushes in the bathrooms, the extra hair ties, the kitchen coffee/tea tray was thoughtfully stocked. The dining and living areas have plenty of seating space. My group of four adults all agreed that for the price, we will choose a different stay location when we return to the area again.
I took my friends here to help me celebrate my 73rd birthday. We all had an amazing time. The house was lovely & ocean views spectacular. The reason for only 4 stars on accuracy of listing is because the photos show the deck & then stairs leading down to the beach. That made me think that there was beach access at the house. The stairs to the beach were a block away so that was a disappointment. It was still close enough to enjoy. Everything else was just about as perfect as could be. The host was delightful & we got to meet her as we were leaving. We would all recommend this beach house to all of our friends & look forward to staying there again.
Very happy with our stay, didn't get to see any sunsets. Wife grew up in Los Altos and we went to Moss Beach Distillery alot, never thought we would be staying next store.
This property is perched on a hill overlooking the Pacific Ocean and its reef break into a protected area and marine sanctuary that is a nursery for seals and their pups. The views, waves crashing and sea mist are ever present. The house is clean and light with a beautiful patio good for seating in the day and the night. Would highly recommend to anyone wishing to experience the Pacific, the bike trail and the cute town of Half Moon Bay. The historic Distillery restaurant is right next door which adds color and life and visitors. It opens at noon and closes at 7 PM.
We have booked many vacation homes, and this is definitely the most well-stocked one ever! If they don't have it, they don't make it. The home is beautiful and clean and comfortable. The outside areas are gorgeous! And there is so much to do without ever getting in the car! This booking is a true gem!!
The views from this home are absolutely breathtaking. And the host went above and beyond with all the little welcoming touches. We had a perfect relaxing weekend. Thank you!!
A lovely house with beautiful views from all rooms and from the spacious deck and backyard. Within walking distance of all the stuff I like to do in Moss Beach. A perfect house to get away and enjoy the beauty and serenity of the area.
Though we ultimately enjoyed the stay, there were a few disappointments. No gym just exercise equipment in a corner. No lounge chairs or heater outside as pictured. No bar stools as pictured and the stairs leading down to the beach pictured were never found. Though I am a pet lover, I did not like the scent of pet when entering the front door. There was "a little something" in the master bathroom toilet that left a ring and because of the handle on the bathroom door there had to be assistance with opening and closing it, you basically are stuck inside. The entire house could have been cleaner. We ended up cleaning toilets and wiping surfaces before using. Please update your photos.
This was even better than the pictures! You walk into the house and the living and dining area is open concept and all windows so all you see is the beautiful cypress trees and ocean view. The backyard is amazing and we lounged by the huge fire pit every night. The area is very quaint and small and several hiking trails literally just out the door. The cypress tree tunnel trail that you can walk to is so beautiful!! I was concerned since it was next to a restaurant but you do not hear any noise. The furniture is dated and the beds are small only full size and as others remarked the fire alarm is very sensitive, thank goodness but husband is tall enough to reset them but i I would stay here again anytime.
Weâve rented this house for new yearâs for several years and we just love it. Itâs got great views, and is really close to the Fitzgerald Marine Preserve with its tidepools, trails, and seals. The backyard has a large patio perfect for lounging with fire pits to keep off the chill. Theyâve recently redone the lower yard and itâs beautiful. Canât wait to go back!
Fantastic views, awesome trails with a sprinkling of California history
What an incredible find! Recommend highly if youâre looking to just sit back, take in gorgeous views of the Pacific directly from the living room or go for easy but beautiful hikes within walking distance.Highlights :1) Sunsets over the Pacific viewed from the deck or living room2) Right next door to Moss beach distillery that has some great food and interesting prohibition era history3) Short walk from Fitzgerald marine reserve and several gorgeous trails.
We had gorgeous views, a beautiful deck to sit out and watch the sunset. The only thing we noticed is that the oven door was coming apart. The lights in the second bedroom were not working. And we needed to be really super careful whenever we cooked anything because the alarm went off when we tried to make toast and cook hashbrowns in the morning also when we baked our lasagna, not sure why it went off there was no smoke there was nothing that was burning or even close to burning All in all. It was a great weekend we would come back.
They were having construction work in the backyard with heavy equipment. So one full day we could not use the outside. We were not told about this and spent hours on the phone dealing with this. Owner gave us a $200 refund, which didn't even cover the cost of one day.
It was perfect. My 89 year old mother did so well. Gonal all of your added touches are so warm and welcoming. We had a fabulous stay. Thank you for everything.
