Charming 2 Bedroom Cottage in Peaceful New Canaan - Pet Friendly!

This historical 2-bedroom cottage sits next door to the main house, with a separate driveway and entrance, and four parking spots.

This peaceful retreat is on 2.5 acres with two ponds along the back of the property, an outdoor balcony upstairs for lounging or reading, and a huge covered porch downstairs with tables, chairs, and ceiling fans to keep cool.

The property is fully fenced in -- pets are welcome!

New Canaan Connecticut is located in Fairfield County, about 45 mins from New York City. Downtown New Canaan offers many shops and restaurants.

DETAILS:

High speed fiber internet, advanced water filtration system, washer/dryer, dishwasher, and extra large smart TV in the living room as well as in the lower bedroom. Automatic motion sensor exterior lighting around the property.

Central heating and air conditioning with thermostat on each level.

Pots, pans, dishes, cooking utensils, silverware and other basics like condiments, salt/pepper, cooking oil, foil, saran wrap, baggies, and more are all provided. There is a fantastic coffee and espresso machine with sugar, sweetener, creamer, etc provided as well.

The cottage has three total levels:
The main level consists of a small parlor room, large living room with oversized couch, huge smart TV, desk and chair, mini-fridge, full bathroom, washer and dryer, and balcony overlooking pond and back yard.

Upstairs is a separate bedroom with king size bed and futon couch which folds out into a bed.

Downstairs is arranged as a 'studio apartment' with another sitting area and couch, king bed, smart TV, full bathroom, and small kitchen. Note that the lower level is an open floorplan without walls.

The lower level door opens to a large covered porch with ceiling fans, table, and chairs, overlooking 2.5 acres.

Every step of the way from initial inquiries to farewell messages was a delight. Questions were kindly and promptly answered, and that gave us a lot of peace of mind about our stay even before we arrived.The Ice Cream cottage was everything we could have hoped for and more. All the little things that make traveling a breeze are here: plenty of (shaded!) parking, easy access, great air conditioning (we visited in the summer), wonderful wifi, impeccable cleanliness, fully-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, and luxurious towels.For a "small" cottage, the layout is perfect for families. There are plenty of comfortable places for everyone to relax together or alone.We were looking for a place where our dogs would be welcome and have space to play. The Ice Cream cottage is a dream come true! The huge fenced-in yard was dog heaven and a delight for the humans, too--not a sign of a pesky gnat or mosquito! Over three days and many hours outside with the dogs, we never found a single tick. The covered porch was perfect for relaxing meals as the dogs safely explored the yard.New Canaan has plenty of options for delicious food, and while we did get takeaway one night, we prepared our own food the rest of the time. There are great market choices from large chains to an excellent local grocery store. We needed an urgent pharmacy visit at 3:00 a.m. during our visit, and there is a 24-hour CVS only 20 minutes away.We're looking forward to visiting again!

Christmas in Connecticut

We had a wonderful Christmas getaway with family at the “Ice Cream Cottage”. It is much more spacious than it looks on the outside.It was clean and had everything we needed. Host was attentive to any questions we had.The fenced in yard was great for our “fur baby” to run around.

Like living in New Canaan

The "Ice Cream Barn" is a beautifully modernized dwelling, situated on a lovely property of woods and fields. You really feel like you are experiencing what it's like to live in the delightful New England community of New Canaan. The hosts are most gracious and kind (another characteristic of NC). The space is relaxing, spacious, and charming, with plenty of outdoor space as well. Can't say enough about this terrific place.
