About the area: "North of the noise and saturated color of the Quarter is a New Orleans neighborhood that’s perfected the art of living. “Welcome to Mid-City,” read the signs on the neutral ground. And that’s truth in advertising. It’s the kind of place where your auto mechanic invites you to a crawfish boil and a total stranger may buy you a drink at an Irish pub or a cannoli at an Italian bakery.

Take the red streetcar line up Canal to the Cemeteries (Mid-City’s dead neighbors are as interesting as the live ones) or bike the new 2.6-mile-long Lafitte Greenway that stretches from Basin Street to Carrollton Avenue and, conveniently, past a po’ boy shop or two – or 17 – with a sno-ball shop and a micro-brewery thrown in for good measure. Buttermilk biscuits. Live music. A bowl of Vietnamese pho. Who wouldn’t want to visit? Eat. Drink. Get up here."

Super Cozy home - mid city New Orleans

We enjoyed Caroline's super Cozy shot gun home. It was clean and conveniently located to our daughter, it provided us a great space to spend time together, near street car too! Beds and pillows were so comfortable! Would definitely stay here again!

New Orleans Pied a terre

Our stay was delightful. The street fronting the unit was missing and in progress of being re-constructed form the dirt up tp the sidewalks. The neighborhood is a bit transitional however, we felt safe at all times. Would like to return especially when there is a street in front!

The house was perfect for us. The location was very convenient. Quiet street but close enough to walk to the street car and bus stops . The street parking was super easy and we were always right by our doorstep. The inside space was so clean and decorated so cute. We loved staying in a classic shotgun house. Caroline has everything organized and laid out to make your stay easy and comfortable. One of the very best things is the super comfortable beds! So soft! The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cookware. The bathroom had all the towels we needed and a cute shelf unit that kept all of our toiletries orderly and easy to get to. We really appreciateed the portable fan and small heater for just a little extra comfort. The central heat/air was easy to use and kept the place very comfortable. And huge bonus was that we could bring our dog. We were able to easily walk him around the neighborhood. This is a truly great place to stay for a New Orleans vacation.

A great place

This property was a pleasure to stay in. The house is surprisingly spacious and afforded plenty of room for the two of us. The location is 2 1/2 blocks from the Canal street car line making it convenient to get to the French Quarter, WWII Museum, City Park, and Garden district. The owner has thought of everything. Communications with her were answered in a matter of minutes and she was a pleasure to work with. The neighborhood is quiet and there are some great places to eat within walking distance.
