"This is an older property, but they're making reasonable efforts to keep it up. The rooms are clean, even if the carpet is a bit old. All the staff is great, even though most of the housekeepers claim to speak no English. Communication can always be an issue in Miami if you don't speak Spanish at least a little. The location is great. Right between the major north south bus lines, so you can get anywhere pretty easily. I bought a 1 week bus pass that got me from the airport to the hotel, from Aventura mall to South Beach many times & back to the airport again for $29. The hotel is right between the bus stops, so it's super convenient. The pool is clean & pool deck & chairs great. I spent some time tanning in next to nothing several days! The beach is literally across the street, but it's probably 1000 feet. A small grassy lot, a nice park, then the beach. No shopping super close, but just a few blocks north or south you can find good eats, groceries & shops. I've been back 4 times now & probably will be back again next year for my birthday!"
