Cozy, excellent food, helpful staff

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet
Cons: Nothing close
Room was small, but "cozy". The staff were very friendly and helpful. no problem with the language differences. The restaurant was quaint, with excellent food. The location is a little out of the way--a 20 min bus ride from the city center--but close to a bus stop. This was not an inconvenience. Wi-fi available in the room for a reasonable fee. No problems with the connections. We would stay here again

Hotel Romulus not great value

Cons: Nothing close, No free Internet, Noisy, Poor breakfast
This hotel was too focused on trying to avoid helping its guests. The breakfast was below average and overpriced. The staff were preoccupied with their personal lives...one staff member was screaming and fighting with his girlfriend outside. I realize this was Italy and we were north of the center of Rome, and thankfully for our rental car we were able to get food supplies at a very nice grocery store 2 miles north. Because we were determined not to eat at the hotel. We stayed for 8 nights (though we only slept there 6 nights). The day we arrived being heavy with jetlag, we picked up some cheese, meats and wine, then headed for the hotel courtyard. The courtyard was not setup for anyone and the tables and chairs were filthy. The staff seemed irritated as we insisted on sitting outside. Eventually they cleaned our chairs and table so we could at least sit down. We used the car to make it to the train station which we parked for free and took the train into Rome. It worked out very well. Never took more than half an hour.

This hotel was so far from Rome...noise on coming from other rooms

Cons: Nothing close, Noisy
I was so disappointed with this hotel. You have to take a bus (wait 30 to 45 mins for bus), THEN, take the metro to Rome attractions. The hotel staff was OK,,,but the distance was horrible. I also noticed ladies of the night waiting for a car to pick them up less than a block from the hotel standing under the bridge where you wait for the bus..... Please, stay away. Rome is a nice place but my experience staying at this hotel made my Rome trip a nightmare. Oh..I forgot..the internet did not work for 7 days.... Thanks

Far from main attractions, but good for the price.

Cons: Noisy
This was not a bad hotel to stay at. It was good for the price, but we had to take the bus and subway to get to the main attractions, so that added on 25 minutes. SO its not convient if you are wanting to do a lot of cite seeing. Staff spoke english and was helpful.

Excellent Place to stay

i stayed at this hotel about a year ago and never wrote a review on it so here it is this place from the outside doesnt look like much im a waldorf kinda guy but once inside it still didnt look like much. then i got the room which was pink and though it was a horrible room. i was disappointed. but then i noticed that i had two beds that were twin sized and i laughed but it was ok. the hotel had parking for my rental car for free unlike any other hotel in rome. it was close enough to the city so that i could access the freeway and head north to piza or south to pompeii with no problems and i could also drive right into town and park at the termini train station and ride the train throughout rome which i highly recommend because parking is impossible. the service at the hotel was amazing great restaraunt and great staff they did everything in thier power to assist me in finding my way around i didnt even have the heart to tell them i brought my garmin with italy maps loaded. hahaha they were just determined to help me. for the price i wouldnt stay anywhere else. i will come back to rome this year and will stay at the same place. the room was clean and the bed was really comfortable.

Very Good Value !

Stayed for a week in late June 2009. Was lucky to get a room on the back side, with no traffic noise. Staff is exceptionally helpful and friendly. It is a 10 minute bus ride to the Tiburtini train station, where the train to Termini puts you in the heart of Old Rome in about another 10 minutes. The hotel also has it's own shuttle going to the train station a few times a day (at no charge)..Our package price for the trip was very reasonable, and when I subtracted the airfare, and subtract what the free breakfast would cost if you paid for it somewhere else, It appears that our stay was about ** dollars per night USD...The breakfast is a 10 dollar value X 2 people. The hotel has a nice garden area which was rarely used, and we enjoyed wine in the garden each evening after returning from sight seeing. Would definately recommend the hotel, and would stay again.

Distinguished price / value proportion

- the breakfast was excellent (not extra charge); - the room was small (and a little bit noisy), but clear; - the location was'nt the best (first busline 135 or COTRAL-bus then after the highway (when the bus turn left) busline 92 and go to the TERMINI - ~45 min.; maybe with the hotel-bus);

Not bad for the price

It is definitely no more than a three star hotel. The Venetian decor was nice. Sheets were clean. The Air Conditioner was turned off but it was not hot so I did not need it. The toilet space was tight as it was right next to a wall that stuck out a little. The tiled bathroom was clean but there was a little bit of mold on the white painted walls and ceiling high above. The restaurant food is excellent and the breakfast is good. The bus stop is about a 5 minute walk away and takes about 25 minutes to go to the Tiburtina Station. Do not depend on the free shuttle as there are only 8 spots available and it can fill up very fast.

Great Hotel!

I would absolutely recommend this hotel. We got a great price for our room and after 10 days of traveling cheaply in Italy we had come to expect the worst. The location that it is in is not the greatest, so imagine our joy and surprise to find an extremely accommodating staff, clean large rooms (that are actually very cute and charming), fluffy towels, roses and extra pillows. The breakfast was great (we were there the first morning they added eggs and bacon) and very substantial. They also have a free shuttle to the city center (although it stops running at 8 and the city bus is less desirable). Overall, we were three very happy campers. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
