It was so far about what I was expecting. It’s exceptional in every way. The bed is incredibly relaxing and comfortable. The room is just the right temperature and extremely clean. I had everything I needed. I had fresh water and coffee all the time and the staff is so friendly. I highly recommend this place. It’s also essentially local near everything

This is a classic old hotel. It is in good condition and the room is clean. They did offer parking, which is essential in this neighborhood. The fine print says the car must not be keyless to be eligible for their garage. How many new cars are not keyless? Also my motorcycle which is keyless, was not eligible. It is an additional $45 dollars a day for their garage, and I don’t know how much the garage down the street is charging, but I didn’t have much of a choice.

The staff at the Chancellor Hotel is exceptional. Our flight got cancelled, but they held our reservation for us (even though the hotel was fully booked) and we were able to immediately go to the room as soon as we arrived the next day. They were very welcoming and it was nice to have snacks and drinks available in the very pretty lobby. The room was very nice. We had to get used to the sounds of the city again, but that was to be expected. There is a restaurant next to the hotel and the area has lots of restaurants within a short walk. We didn't have time, but there is also lots of shopping in the Union Square area. The BART train to the airport is about a 10 minute walk and the trolly stops at the hotel. Taxis and such are also easy to get. We accidentally left a phone charger in the room. So, we immediately called and spoke with the head of housekeeping. She very graciously found our charger and shipped it back to us! Very genuinely nice people - highly recommend!

This is an old hotel that’s well cared for with everything you need for a comfortable stay and a good sleep. It is not fancy but it is in a great neighborhood! And, the price can’t be beat! Will definitely stay here again. A good find.

The room was small, but it's a historic property which isn't surprising. Bathroom was small and dated but VERY clean, which is important to us. Bed was soft, and they had a list of interesting pillows you could request if you wanted (like a full body pillow, memory foam, etc.) Free apples, cookies, tea, and coffee in the lobby. Cons: Room faced the street, so you could hear the cable cars and street noise. The walls were also paper thin -- could hear the person in the room next to us having a loud convo at 7 AM. Overall, very convenient to shopping, dining, and transit. We'd stay there again.
