The hotel needs some renovations. We had a very nice room, but it lacked any technological advantages like the usb outlets working, a bathroom fan, radio outlets that work on a new iPhone or a good music stereo/alarm, shower that got warmer than lukewarm, etc. There’s also a lack of privacy with their front windows that don’t have covers or shades and people can look in at any time. The view from our oceanfront room was gorgeous but the beach was too dangerous for anyone to be permitted in the water unless walking to the neighboring hotel. We got really messed over by their charter service when we arrived. If you choose to book with them, don’t bother emailing because they won’t respond until the time is up to make a reservation (no less than 24 hrs isn’t going to work). And watch out at the airport because you can get sucked into none timeshare presentations when you just need a ride to your hotel. It’s not only in the first room, but second room after that too. The gym was on the smaller side but had a good selection of weights, machines, treadmills, etc. it was clean too. The spa treatments we had (scrub and massage) were nice. The spa center itself needs upgrades. The locker room isn’t great and the waiting area with spa/pool is just ok.

The property itself was well-maintained and visually appealing. However, I was disappointed that upon arrival the staff immediately encouraged my boyfriend to pay an additional $600 to “upgrade” to a room that was essentially the same as the one we had already booked, only slightly closer to the pool, and without any added amenities to justify the extra cost. I was also surprised that the signature onsite restaurant required an additional $140 per person, despite the resort being advertised as all-inclusive, especially considering we had already paid $5,000 for a four-night stay.

I would like to express my gratitude for the excellent service we received during our stay at the Marquis. My best friend and I planned this for my 50th birthday, and I had high hopes for a "perfect" trip. There wasn't a moment when I didn't feel spoiled and taken care of. This was a birthday gift to myself, and wow, it exceeded all my expectations. Bryan at the front desk went above and beyond for us on several occasions and truly took such good care of us. We also want to recognize the outstanding service from the pool staff—Isabel and David, along with Donald at Sakke, who were incredible. On our final evening, dining at Canto del Mar was the perfect way to end our trip. Unfortunately, I do not recall the names of the servers there, but their service was flawless and left a lasting impression. Housekeeping was spectacular. Our room was wonderfully clean, and we never had to wait for anything. The towels were always fresh, and the staff was incredibly respectful with our belongings. The nightly turndown service felt indulgent and added a special touch to our stay. The food was excellent everywhere we ate, and the views were absolutely stunning—truly the perfect backdrop for dinners. What stood out most was that I never had to ask for help; someone was always there, ready to assist with kindness and professionalism. EVERY place we ate the food was terrific. We actually made the mistake of going into town for another dinner to try it. Didn't hold a candle to the food

Hotel was beautiful, serene and relaxing. Room was perfect and beds comfy and a/c cold. Mini fridge kept stocked everyday (tip sugar free soda only available in this area)Housekeeping did a fabulous job as well . Pools were clean and the perfect temperature and the staff around the pool Amazing!!! Serigio and Mericruz were top notch. Lots of dining options ( but be sure to make reservations beforehand) and the food was pretty good, with some things that were spectacular (tempiaki restaurant) to some that were just ok. Loved the coffee shop and their icecream and and panini is a must.It is a quieter resort but there was always activity somewhere at night with some great shows. My only negative would be a need for an air-conditioned bar in the evening and possibly a shaded area somewhere in the pool to escape the rays at times.

This hotel was amazing!! The staff was so friendly and provided the best service. The pool side service for drinks was ok, at times it was a bit slow and we got the wrong food items once but it was still great!! Highly recommend for a relaxing getaway vibe :)
