This was one of the WORST hotel experiences I’ve ever had coming from someone who worked in hotels for 10 years.
We checked in at 6pm and our room was still not ready. Mind you, we needed to get ready for a concert and their solution was for us to use their bathroom to get ready in. We get back at like 12:30 in the morning to check-in after the concert and the front desk guy verifies that I need two beds and we go up to the room and it has one bed. We go back down to the front desk and it’s 1 in the morning at this point and when I tell them it only has one bed, he then questions me and asks if I’m sure it only had one bed. Shouldn’t they know which rooms have what type of bed or how many? They then tell me that they’re overbooked and have no rooms with 2 beds which isn’t my fault since I came to check in at 6pm and was told my room wasn’t ready. They offered free breakfast and parking but that doesn’t solve my problem with needing 2 beds. He then talks to his manager and a suite with two beds magically open up. I verified with the front desk guy that it would have 2 beds and he said “you’ll have plenty of space with two beds and the couch pulls out into a bed as well.” Great! Not! We get into the room and it only has one bed again and the sofa doesn’t even pull out into a bed. At this point, everyone is fed up and two people slept on the bed, one slept on the couch and we got a rollaway bed.
Please retrain your front desk agents! They should know room types!!
