Beautifully restored property. Staff was excellent. Beds were comfortable. My lack of one additional star was because of Expedia and not the hotel or staff. The stay was excelent. We were going for a diving class and mixed reviews on inclement weather. I wanted to add insurance after I booked but could not do it either on line or at the hotel (*because of it being a third party vendor). Also wanted to upgrade at the hotel for a larger room but couldn't do that either. I am very disappointed in Expedia. If things go awry, you are at the mercy of Expedia. The hotel and staff was willing to help me out but their hands were tied. Saving a few dollars is not worth working with this vendor.

Excellent value!

Elegant property; former girls’ college. Rooms are small but adequate. Everything was clean and functional. Amenities (pool, gym) very nice! Excellent breakfast! Only drawback is the very old wooden floors in the room can get noisy.

This hotel is one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at! The beds are so comfortable and soft! The pool is super nice! The complimentary breakfast is good and they switch it up a little daily. We also loved the outside patio area! We ate out there and had a fire. Overall a great stay!

Weekend trip

This place is a hidden gem! Virginia at check-in was the best ! I have been traveling between Maryland and Georgia for the past 35 years. Virginia is by far the nicest, most welcoming staff member I have come across. Friendly, engaging, informative, a true delight. You are blessed to have her! We will.be making this.our overnight stop from now on !

One of the best hotels!

They were so kind and so wonderful. We needed to check in early since we were going to a wedding, and they were willing to accommodate us. The property is really beautiful, and has some wonderful history. Both my boyfriend and i are night owls so we went abd sat on the balcony on the 3rd floor, and it was just amazing! They were a little pricy but i would have payed more if need be for how wonderful this place was. If your looking for a relaxing weekend i would definitely go here. They also are a wedding venue we found out.

Enjoyed our stay. Disappointed room wasn't ready an hour after check in and an upgrade would require additional payment. Did not like the chlorine smell and green water appearance. The shower door in our room leaked and needed more towels. There was only the bathroom mirror in our room. A fuller length mirror would be nice. Loved the Dove shampoo, conditioner, wash and lotion. The holders were really convenient. Continental breakfast was nice, but regular coffee is needed in the room too.

When entering the hotel, people were laying on the couches, first impression. When checking in after 4:00pm, our rooms were not ready and we were offered an upgrade at an extra charge. The hotel pool was green and had an overwhelming smell of chlorine. The coffee in the room was decaffeinated only. The staff were nice that worked the breakfast.
