The Inn and surrounding plantings were beautiful. Service was great as was the food, however, the toilet paper looked like something a cheap motel would offer. I liken it to offering paper towels as napkins in your lovely dining room.

"Colonial" don't mean "old," it means "experienced

Gorgeous experienced hotel in the heart of all of Concord's action. Most every attraction was no more than a five minute walk away. After revelling in Transcendentalism and the American Revolution, my palate and I could rejoice at the hotel's eateries. I'll be going back.

Completely charming, helpful staff

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet
I just spent one night at the Colonial Inn, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved the atmosphere, which is enhanced by the period decor and by a rather ramshackle floor plan. The location in the middle of historic Concord was great, and the Inn is about a three minute drive to Walden Pond. My room was clean, comfortable, and I got an excellent night's sleep. The Internet service in the room wasn't super fast, but it worked just fine. While the restaurant smelled great and the bar looked very inviting, I didn't have the chance to try either. Most importantly, the staff was friendly and helpful. I had to ask for directions to drive into Boston and back, and by the time I finished asking, the woman at the front desk had already printed out Mapquest directions to my destination, and then explained them to me. I didn't get lost at all, so I was quite grateful. I would definitely stay there again, given the chance.

A (Nice) Step Into the Past

Pros: Free breakfast
Cons: internet access spotty
I stayed at this hotel the night before a business meeting in the local area. It was a refreshing change from the usual cookie-cutter hotels for business. It was more like a charming inn. Though I arrived late, the bar keep was kind enough to keep the kitchen open to make a late-night burger, which was greatly appreciated. The front desk clerk was extremely friendly. The rooms were tiny, but perfect for my needs. The only minor complaint I had was that wireless internet service was spotty. On that particular night it wasn't critical. But if it had been an evening when I really needed e-mail access, I would have been in trouble.
