Staff is either really good at acting or genuinely nice people. Lobby is beautiful. Smells like autumn/gingerbread. Food not bad. Didn't check everything out but the work out room is pretty sufficient. Pool at the top floor next to lounge. Not a super high building so that's nice. It's just great. Would DEFINITELY DEFINITELY stay again. Oh - Rick Bayless' Velvet Taco to the right and Lou Malnati's to the right .... Can't go wrong. Walkable area about 10 mins from Loyola Chicago, 15 from Northwestern. Starbucks Reserve is 15 mins too.

Great family stay!

Excellent visit to the Viceroy. Thanks to our hotels.com status, our room was upgraded to a lake view, and we enjoyed 25% off at their restaurant. Menu looked great, but we just had time for drinks. Room was spacious with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the city and peek-a-boo of Lake Michigan. I made the mistake of leaving our "do not disturb" sign on the door when we left for the day, meaning our room didn't get serviced, but housekeeping made a trip up for us while we went out for the evening. Quite nice. It also had a nice gym and rooftop pool; although, it was closed for the season (March). We were also there celebrating our daughter's birthday, and the hotel left a nice note and plate of cookies to celebrate! Oh, and good location to shopping and nearby restaurants (Lou Malnati's, LuxBar, Tavern of Rush, Original Pancake House, Velvet Taco... all good!)

Very modern and the renovations in the rooms look amazing. Staff was wonderful to work with and the connecting restaurant and rooftop lounge was fantastic. We booked the Grand Suite to have the oversized bathroom and it made getting ready for the night amazing!!

Gold Coast Prime

Omg the Viceroy is a new fave. The lobby smelled good as soon as we walked in and we immediately were able to valet our car. The room was nice and elegant i love the gold decor. The shower was wonderful. It’s located in the Gold Coast which you honestly can’t do better than that when visiting the Windy City. We did some shopping at Hermes, Prada and Marc Jacob’s which was walking distance from our hotel. It was also conveniently located Near Maple and Ash restaurant as well as the velvet taco where we found delicious red velvet cake. At the rooftop, they have a restaurant, the elote corn was amazing! The property also features a rooftop pool, but it was closed because we visited during the winter, but we will definitely be back in the warmer weather. Thank you Viceroy!

Great property and AMAZING staff!!! This was our first time in Chicago and we absolutely loved staying at the Viceroy. The hotel was chic and upscale. They anticipated any possible need and had the room prepared for a perfect getaway. We will absolutely be staying here again when we visit! Could not have asked for a better hotel in Chicago!

Overall great stay! Great room/view. Overpriced as hell! And for the price you’d think they have free breakfast of some kind nope! No free parking had to pay $100 valet parking fee for the night. Customer service needs upgrade! No friendly faces, staff wasn’t very friendly nor accommodating.
