Comfortable and modern iN walking distance to everything.
We enjoyed our stay. Mel provided everything we needed. We enjoyed coming back to the comfortable lounge after a day of walking around. There are steep hills so we did choose to take an Uber on our way back to the train station. The cost was minimal. I would totally recommended the flat.
Melanie's apartment was very clean and comfortable. Furniture was of high quality and the bed was great. Communication was excellent. Mel left muesli, jams, tea, coffee, milk etc for breakfast. Good pub just across the road around the corner (with gluten free food and GF beer on tap). Walkable distance to Princes St and The Royal Mile. This is largely uphill but cabs were readily available and cheap enough. We also walked it most times. A very pleasant stay. Thanks Mel.
We enjoyed our stay at this lovely flat in Edinburgh New Town. It was well situated with restaurants and coffee shops nearby as well as a Sainsbury for incidentals. The walk into Old Town was easy, as well. The flat is well laid out with a lovely terrace view from the bedroom. Melanie was there to welcome us upon arrival which was very nice since she went over everything and answered our questions about the area. Would definitely stay here again!
Nice sized basement flat, in brilliant location, in the New Town, but within easy walking distance of Old Town, Leith, bus routes, etc. Good communication, and simple logistics.
Nice lower level flat with comfortable bed, and newer kitchen with stove-range, dishwasher, mini fridge and freezer. Did not hear a peep out of the up stair neighbor.
The person that greeted me at the flat was nice and friendly (sorry forgot her name), she was informative and provided all the necessities such as internet access, T.V. and other features of the flat.
The location is within a 12 minute walk to Princes Street - Waverly Station and 20 minutes to the Old Town. Melanie has a really nice and detailed book outlining everything there is to do, see, shop and places to eat in Edinburgh. Highly recommend having dinner and a pint at The Cumberland that is around the corner from the flat. Great meals, and service. Seems to be "the spot" for the locals to socialize.
I loved the exercise from walking all the hilly streets, but this is something to consider if you have issues with mobility, as there is a significant elevation change from the flat to Princes Street. Did use one time, and saw MANY Uber drivers, so that is an option for travel in and around Edinburgh.
Would definitely stay again.
