Motel One Edinburgh - Royal was a great location for us in the centre of all the action. Easy for the Hopon Hopoff bus and easy to get to the location for the other tours we went on

This is a really convenient hotel from the train station and the bus that brings you from the airport. It is also easy to get to the site seeing bus. It is an easy walk uphill to The Royal Mile. Near many restaurants and pubs. It is a little tired, but perfect for our one night stay in Edinburgh. The staff are really helpful, they go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and seen.

Great Location

This was the perfect location for a quick visit to Edinburgh. Very easy access to the Waverly train station + perfect location to head up to the high street. (The next-door Advocate's Close stair way brings you directly to St. Giles Cathedral on the Royal Mile.) I'd happily book here again!

Stay near the rail station

Overall a great location. Cumbersome to maneuver through the twists and turns and stairs with elderly parents to get to the elevator or reception restrooms. Breakfast was OK. Nice reception & bar area to hang out, have a drink or read. But the best part of this hotel is its location.

Location was excellent for tram/bus transport direct to airport. Cute coffee bars right outside, lots of good pubs for drink/food within 10 mins walk. Royal Mile and castle within 10 mins walk uphill. Shopping on Princess Street and the gardens just across bridge (5mins walk). Nice. comfortable bar to relax in. Small but clean rooms. Helpful staff, quick check in. Comfy bed

The stay was very nice. It was a little loud in our room, maybe a lot loud, but no way to control street noise. Better sound proofing would help a lot, but for the price and location, it's hard to beat.
