The Under Ridge Home - 4 Bedroom w/Fireplace

Welcome to Under Ridge home: a charming 4 bedroom escape nestled beneath the Shawangunk mountains. If you love the outdoors, you will love it here, just a 15 minute drive from world class hiking, climbing and views in Mohonk Persevere as well as Minnewaska State Park. I was drawn to this area over ten years ago and now wish to share this magical place with the world.
The space
The kitchen, dining room, and living room provide a wonderful area for entertaining and gathering. Unwind by a cozy fire by the fireplace found in the living room. Gather with friends and family around the dining table to enjoy a meal, or simply a glass of wine. Enjoy the cool summer nights out on the deck surrounded by the forest. The kitchen is fully equipped with butcher block countertops, an abundance of pots, pans, cookware, and dishes to accommodate large family meals! Work from home with large desks located in 3 of the bedrooms with high speed internet while enjoying the views.

The house was lovely! Very tastefully decorated with everything we needed. The deck out back was nice with gorgeous trees surrounding it. Our host was super fast to respond to any of our questions. Would stay here again!

Perfect for family, with a few gliches including being too expensive

Family stay for daughter's college graduation was very good even with gliches. Very comfortable beds although bedroom lighting isn't great, house was pretty easy for my 99 year old mother to move around. Gliches: while it doesn't list soap as an amenity in the listing, to me, soap should be provided especially for the price being charged. There was very little (under an inch) liquid hand soap in the bathrooms, no soap for shower. The back deck was a nice place to hang out together, but again, missing some things. All of the tiki lamps (which we needed because it was a humid evening and bugs were out) had holes in the bottoms. The cushions on metal chairs were wet and dirty, we needed extra chairs to just sit around. A non working gravity chair was lying around. More attention could have been paid for the price being charged. Also, the owner charges extra for each person which is way too much. On the morning we were leaving, new tiki lamps, 2 new cushions, and a box of soap was delivered. Too late, should have been thought about before.

Quiet and Clean Property

Perfect location central to everything we needed in the Gunks - climbing, shopping, trails, etc... All necessary amenities were provided, house comes as advertised. Great communication with owner, easy check-in/check-out. Will definitely look to rent again.

Beautiful

The house is absolutely gorgeous. The location is away from town but restaurants and grocery not too far. Jean Michel was super accommodating with letting us in early as the weather wasn’t great the day of check-in. Had us plowed out and communicated quickly.

Had a Great Time

We (4 of us) loved the location of the house and were happy to have a good place to relax. Communication was great and everything was just as described. This is a beautiful location to visit in the fall with so many amazing places to visit close by.

Just a mama bear missing her cubs

We came to see our sons who live in different areas from this place & spend time together Staying here did not disappoint. From the moment we walked in & to leaving, it was great! Description is as true as you can get. Everything was clean & the host was great. Able to see deer in the yard & the beauty of nature. Would absolutely stay again. Highly recommend.

Enjoyed our stay

Listing is as described. House was the perfect size for the 7 of us; 6 shared beds. 2 bedrooms and 1 full bath upstairs/each bedroom has an AC unit and ceiling fans. 2 more bedrooms on the main floor; larger has an AC unit; smaller one does not so if you sleep with the bedroom door closed will get stuffy. Another full bath downstairs and AC unit off the dining which sufficiently cooled the house. None of the doors/windows have screens but considering the area bugs are unavoidable; we were careful coming in and out so wasn’t an issue. Be prepared with bug spray if you plan to hangout outdoors. Alternating showers so there was enough hot water for everyone wasn’t an issue for us. Got to see quite a few fawn in the area so had the be extra careful/alert driving in and out of the area but the baby deer were adorable. Owner was very responsive and helpful. Overall enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

A wonderful stay in this beautiful home!

We recently had a 2-night stay in this home as we were in the area for a wedding. The home was well situated in a beautiful woodsy setting. Upon arrival, we found a beautifully renovated home. Everything was clean and well stocked. The air conditioner kept us comfortable. The beds were amazingly comfortable. There was plenty of room to enjoy sitting on the back deck. The owner sent us an email after we arrived and welcomed us and made sure we had everything we needed. This home was just down the road from the state park for hiking etc. The best part of the trip was being able to watch a bear family in the woods up behind the home!! Just a wonderful stay and I would definitely recommend it. Hope to go back someday.

Weekend Getaway

For the last two years, my friends and I have begun a tradition of going away together. It’s a time for us to reflect and recharge. I chose this location because I knew it would be restful. No warm water

Nice place! Easy check in. We stayed for 2 nights and with 6 guests. 2 went home because there was no hot water and very low pressure. Hard to take shower and we were uncomfortable with that part of it for 2 days. Not worth the price.. especially without having the bare minimum, which is hot water

Friends weekend
