The lobby is very beautiful, impressive but that’s it. I was prepared for an older setting for the room because it is an old building. But, I don’t think the room had been updated since the 1950s. Just the appearance of the shower decided that I was not going to take a shower during my stay. I decided to make the best of it and move on. I pulled out a towel to wash my face and a long black hair fell into the sink. I began to look around. I discovered old dried toothpaste and a clump of something that me nor the staff could identify. Well, I was moved to a new room and presented with a voucher for breakfast. I finally dozed over off with thoughts of bedbugs and ick. Again I went with it. Went to get my complimentary breakfast and was presented with a specific menu to order from. Very limited choices. None of which I cared to eat. I left my voucher on the counter went up, packed and left. I do have to say the guys working the valet were fantastic.

Lobby, elevators, and room exceptionally clean. I love the free coffee in the lobby. They also have these water fountains with refillable water bottles which are very convenient. I booked last minute day of and we stayed in I think a clubroom, which was super super small, but it was cozy and had all the basics. Bed was comfortable. Check in and check out. Was very convenient and quick. We opted for a valet which was an additional $50 and Uber around the location of this hotel is Downtown, So lots of homeless as well as people under the influence and I don’t mean alcohol just roaming around so that made it feel a little sketchy and unsafe. Another put off the entryway reeked of marijuana and some people just standing outside the entry doors smoking, I personally can’t stand the older of it, but that would be my only downfall. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here for the Houston Marathon and the location was perfect, close and very convenient for race weekend. The room itself was clean, but unfortunately we ran into a few issues. In our first room, the toilet didn’t work at all. That room was actually nicer and had a fridge and microwave. We were switched to a second room due to the toilet issue, but that room didn’t have a fridge or microwave. The toilet worked in the second room, but the bathroom vent was not working. For the price we paid, I was disappointed with the overall experience despite the great location.

The staff was friendly and accommodating. The furniture in the room was a little hit or miss. Stayed in a room with a sofa, the first room did not have a sofa, the second room had a slightly leaky sink. The staff moved me no problem. The sheets were wonderful and the coffee machine was great. Love the fact that they had a workout facility. The mattress was a little saggy, but the shower was hot and the restrooms were clean. I would stay again.
