Great Location! A nice "off the beaten path" hotel

Pros: great lake views and activities, out of downtown jasper
The highlights of this hotel arethe location and the restaurant. The room itself was pretty typical, though it appears that they've recently upgraded the bathroom and added a nice little stone fire place. No a.c., which likely isn't needed that often in Jasper, given its location. We had 30 degree (c) temps the days we were there -luckily, someone planned ahead and provided for a screen window in the room's door, which allowed for a nice draft when that and the balcony door were both open. They've done a great job capitalizing on the lake, which is just meters from the hotel lobby door. There are various watercraft for rent and you can also rent mountain bikes to take advantage of the roads and paths. Tonnes of hiking trails in the area. Only 7 minutes up a nice little windy road from the centre of downtown Jasper. Beautiful views of the surrounding mountains as well. The main restuarant is The Pine - high end, lovely food, a little more money than the average family might want to spend on an evening meal, but great for a special treat or occasion. We were told that expected attire was casual dress (no jeans) but several people in the restuarant were in jeans and it didn't appear to upset anyone. They do allow for take out, including wine and beer (no cocktails) but do not offer room service. The only other food available at the hotel is a small selection of snacks and drinks provided for sale in the hotel lobby. For those that are more self-sufficient, they also offer a bbq deck, which appeard to have several tables and chairs and offered a great view of the lake. I would definitely stay here again, given my choice of locations around Jasper

Beautiful & Peaceful place!

We liked this hotel very much. It is outside of Jasper-need car to go anywhere -but close enough to go back & for to downtown which makes it even more picturesque. Scenic, beautiful views and very quiet. The bedroom is spacious enough and had a wonderful deck looking over the Pyramid Lake. Very nice! It should have a complimentary breakfast because the adjacent restaurant is ridiculously expensive! This restaurant looks impressive at the first moment and it does have a beautiful view of the lake and fine service. But the food was tasteless and THE MOST expensive food we ate in the whole country of Canada. Does not worth it! Stay in the hotel but do not eat on their restaurant!

Loved it!

The rooms were small but really nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is expensive but good. And the views are priceless. It was the best hotel on our whole trip to the Canadian Rockies.

Scenic, but dirty

The setting for this hotel is gorgeous, but the rooms are dirty. Our room had everything from pieces of crayons to sticky candies on the unvacuumed carpet. The front window was so dirty it was hard to see the view. Only sheets but no blanket was provided for the sleeper couch. At check out I mentioned the room was dirty, and the employee at the desk responded by turning his back on me and walking away.

Pyramid Lake is a hit

Breathtaking and very welcoming setting - worth splurging, in my opinion. Our suite was comfy, cozy, and clean - great view! Unit was nicely furnished and self-contained. The youthful staff members were friendly, hard-working, and very helpful. Kayak rental option is a nice plus for $20 or so. Only disappointment was the breakfast buffet: Not much on offer, and not very good. Still, I'd definitely go back to the Pyramid Lake Resort!
