This characterful 1-bedroom apartment offers a simple and authentic place to stay in the very heart of Bairro Alto — one of Lisbon’s most iconic and energetic neighbourhoods.
The apartment is located in an old, traditional Lisbon building with original-style wooden construction that reflects the historic character of Bairro Alto. As is common in buildings of this age, access is via narrow wooden stairs that are considerably steeper than modern standards. Guests should therefore be comfortable using steep stairs, particularly when carrying luggage.
The apartment itself retains the character and simplicity of an older Lisbon home. It is not a newly renovated or luxury property, and some elements naturally show signs of age and use, but it is maintained to an acceptable standard and provides the essentials for a comfortable and practical city stay.
What this apartment is really about is **location and experience**. It is best suited to guests who prioritise being in the centre of Lisbon’s social and nightlife scene and appreciate the authenticity of staying in a traditional building rather than a modern development.
Step outside and you are immediately immersed in Bairro Alto, surrounded by its narrow streets, restaurants, bars and nightlife. The one-bedroom layout makes it a convenient base for couples, solo travellers or friends who plan to spend their days exploring Lisbon and their evenings enjoying everything the neighbourhood has to offer.
Due to its central position in Bairro Alto, guests should expect a lively atmosphere and street noise, particularly during evenings and weekends. For night owls and travellers coming to Lisbon to enjoy its restaurants, bars and social scene, this energy is part of what makes the location so special.

Check-in and check-out times
Check-in time is between 17:00 and 22:00 on the start date of your booking unless another time has been agreed with us.
Check-out time is until 11:00 on the last day of your booking unless another time has been agreed with us. Unauthorized late departures will incur additional charges.
On the day of arrival, guests must present their identity documents (passport or identity card) to the owners.
By law, we are obliged to report some personal details of each guest to the Immigration and Borders Service (SEF).
Extra guests
The guest on whose behalf the booking was made must stay in the accommodation as we cannot accept bookings for other people.
Extra people are not allowed beyond the number of people on the reservation.
Airbnb and Booking take this issue so seriously that in the event of a complaint, the booking is canceled and the guest is not entitled to any compensation.
Quiet hours
Quiet hours are from 22:00 to 7:00.
Please keep noise levels to a minimum during this time to ensure a peaceful environment for all guests.
Tobacco and drugs
As a family home, we have a no-smoking policy, so we ask that you do not smoke inside the property
What you do in your personal time is entirely up to you, but when you stay in our home, we have a strict no drugs policy.
Pets
Although animals can be very well-behaved at home, how they will behave in a new space is not a given. And nobody wants to hear a dog barking at 2am or a cat meowing
Unfortunately, the costs of cleaning up after the animal are enormous in order to avoid allergies for the next guests.
And then there's the problem of smell: nobody who has an animal thinks their house smells bad. But anyone who enters the house will smell it immediately. The house would have to be open for 2 or 3 days for the smell to disappear and that's very expensive.
Any violation of this rule will incur an extra cleaning fee.
Parties
For us, the safety and well-being of hosts, guests and the community in general are a priority, so parties and events of any kind are forbidden in the apartment.
Airbnb and Booking take this issue so seriously that in the event of a complaint, the booking is canceled and the guest is not entitled to any compensation.
Garbage and recycling
Please dispose of your garbage in the bin on the day you leave the property. We appreciate your help in separating recyclable materials. The location of the garbage cans can be found in the House Manual.
This small step makes a big difference to the environment and will help us avoid a fine.
Before you leave, wash and put away the dishes and kitchen utensils you have used.
Accidents
Accidents happen. If you damage something, let us know as soon as possible so that we can take care of it.
It is expensive to arrive at the property and discover damage that could lead to your next stay being canceled because there is no time to repair it. In this case, we will request a compensation

## Check-in and Check-out
**Check-in:** From **17:00 until the check-in time specified in the listing** on the day of arrival, unless a different time has been agreed with us in advance.
**Check-out:** By **11:00** on the day of departure, unless otherwise agreed in advance.
Please respect the agreed check-out time. **Unauthorized late departures may incur additional charges.**
### Online Check-in and Guest Identification
**Online check-in is mandatory.** All guests must complete the required registration and identification process before arrival.
The identification details of **every guest included in the reservation** must be provided through the online check-in process, as required by Portuguese law.
**Property access instructions and codes will only be issued once the required check-in information for all registered guests has been completed.**
Please make sure to complete this process in good time before your arrival to avoid delays in accessing the property.
## Registered Guests and Visitors
The person who made the reservation must be one of the guests staying at the property. We do not accept reservations made on behalf of other people.
The **maximum number of overnight guests must not exceed the number stated in the reservation**. Unregistered overnight guests are not permitted.
Visitors who are not included in the reservation require **prior approval** and must not cause the property to exceed its permitted occupancy.
Serious or repeated violations may be reported to the booking platform and may result in termination of the stay or additional charges where permitted by the platform's terms and applicable law.
## Quiet Hours
Quiet hours are from **22:00 to 07:00**.
Please keep music, conversations, television, and other noise to a minimum during these hours.
We kindly ask you to respect our neighbours and the local community at all times, particularly when entering or leaving the property late at night or early in the morning.
## No Smoking or Drugs
**Smoking and vaping are not permitted inside the property.**
The use, possession, or consumption of **illegal drugs is strictly prohibited on the property**.
Additional cleaning or damage resulting from a violation of these rules may result in additional charges.
## No Pets
Unfortunately, **pets are not permitted**, unless the specific listing states otherwise or prior authorization has been provided.
Even well-behaved animals may react differently in an unfamiliar environment, and accommodating animals can require extensive additional cleaning to remove hair, odours, and allergens for future guests.
Bringing an animal into the property without authorization may result in an **additional cleaning fee**, where permitted by the booking platform and applicable rules.
## No Parties or Events
**Parties, events, and gatherings are strictly prohibited.**
The safety and comfort of our guests, neighbours, and local community are very important to us. Excessive noise and gatherings of unregistered visitors are not permitted.
Serious violations may be reported to the booking platform and may result in termination of the stay or additional charges where permitted by the platform's terms and applicable law.
## Keys, Access Devices and Access Codes
Please take good care of any **keys, key cards, remotes, or other access devices** provided during your stay.
Guests may be responsible for reasonable costs associated with lost or damaged access devices, including replacement or locksmith costs where applicable.
**Access codes are strictly for registered guests and must not be shared with third parties.**
For everyone's security, please make sure doors and entrances are properly closed and locked whenever you leave the property.
## Fire and Safety
Please do not tamper with, disconnect, cover, or remove **smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, alarms, security equipment, or any other safety devices** at the property.
Emergency equipment must only be used for its intended purpose.
Please immediately inform us if you notice a problem with any safety equipment.
