The hotel was older and dingier than the pictures led on. The hallways and my very small single room smelled of faint cigarettes. It must have been in the carpets and walls because even with the window open on a blustery London day the smell did not dissipate. The sheets were clean, but the dizzying smell and older, deferred maintenance room was not the nicest.
Staff was nice, but you have to turn your keys in when you go out for the day and I didn’t like that, knowing my belongings were in the room. You also have to buzz in as you don’t have keys, and there were multiple times staff was not at the desk.

We stayed for a specific reason for location. This is not the normal area we stay in London. There was a lovely park across the street but active drug users.
We were looking for somewhere to stay for one night, close to Paddington Station. The hotel was perfectly located and met all our needs for a short stay, and is very reasonably priced. We booked a double room but were advised on arrival that we had been ‘upgraded’ to a 3 person room - the rooms are quite small and we would have preferred one less bed and more floor space. There is no lift in the hotel and we really appreciated the reception person offering to carry one of our bags to the second floor. We liked the neighbourhood would be happy to stay here again in the same circumstances.
Good location - easy access to Paddington station on foot as well as central shopping areas by bus.
We cannot ask more for hotels around this area especially with cheap price, so not to compain about the size and condition (old) of the room as long as it is generally cleaned.
But the noise of trains and the bad smell in the bathroom were unpleasant indeed.

Liked: Amenities
It was nice room but the basement was hard to bring all the luggage’s but besides that very good
Clean, near station and friendly (!) staff.
The single room was small , but with TV and toilet and shower.
No lift, good English breakfast.
Room cleaning every day.
Very clean room. Close to public transportation.
Best value breakfast really enjoyable.
Only downside was I had the room at the very top of the hotel difficult with a suitcase. Ask for assistance .
However I would definitely stay here again, great location for the price.
