If you arrive early there are limited spots for guest and it's rate to find that on South beach. Next it's convenient to all the main restaurants, clubs and stores of Lincoln road. Last, surprise that it had a microwave and small fridge to have extra doggie bags and to keep your drinks cold. Don't know if you arrive super lafter 11pm of any staff can check you into a room because when we arrived and had already check in had security open the door so in case you have a late flight just keep in mind and metion that in your request god forbid you arrive late and don't have a. Check in person......if you have a car you have to park there snd leave your keys with front desk but to me that's good because it keeps you from moving and losing your spot.

Hotel is subpar. It might be ok for spring breakers, but not for a family of 7, including elderly parents. You could feel the springs in the mattress, pillows are flat, no fan in bathroom, dirty sheets. Not comfortable at all.

We were early and on site parking was a premium so we got lucky. We used the heat not the ac. It was trickey, but ok. Would be nice if they had coffee 24-7 and a paper, not plastic for coffee. It was a beautiful 40s building . It had lots if hand painted art on the walls.very walkable neighborhood.

The front desk staff was friendly and I liked the location of the hotel: close to the beach, nearby restaurants and stores, yet it was away from the hastle and noise of the streets. I didn’t like that the hotel was pretty old. Based on what it had to offer, I think it was over overpriced.

Room size is ok.Beds are terrible and not comfortable at all.Got neck and back issues after staying there just for a night.Hotel is in a prime place and close to the beach. It’s very noisy and not very pleasant at all. I don’t recommend staying there with the family.

This was a terrible experience. I hope I never have to see this hotel or go to Miami again. This hotel has left a permanent scar on my and my young son's heart. My experience at the James Hotel can only be described as horrific. The hotel staff actually called the local police to have me and my son removed for trespassing, simply because I found a problem with the mattress and requested a room change. Four policemen forced us leave the hotel. My son was terrified and cried. Afterwards, I requested a refund, but they said I had booked through Expedia and told me to get a refund from Expedia. The local police were clearly biased towards the hotel. One of the police officers, named E. Santana, was particularly vicious and had a terrible attitude. The story was after we checking in at 3:00 PM, I discovered a problem with the mattress; one side of the mattress was sagging. I requested a room change, but a staff member at the front desk said there were no other rooms available. I explained that the mattress was broken, the springs on one side had collapsed, and it was impossible for me to sleep on it. She said that all the mattresses in the other rooms were the same. This was clearly lying. Later, while I was showering, my son explored the hotel and found that there were other empty rooms upstairs. He came back and told me, so I went to the front desk again to request a room change. They then threatened me, saying that if I continued to complain, they would call the police, the

Generally it's a good old fashion hotel in nice, relatively quiet location. Pros: There are lot shops and cafe around. 4-5 minutes walk to beach. Cons: it's old hotel and there are lot of construction work on neighboring streets.

Staff was good. It is cleanish and straight out of the 50s the rooms ,the towels, the beds,and the bedspreads, the TV, the shower ,the fixtures. . Cool vibe or tacky. .. you'll have to decide .
