We love this property. Location is excellent. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Property is beautifully maintained and landscaped. Love the high ceilings in guest rooms. Fireplace and ceiling fan nice extras. Pool & spa excellent.

We booked for 2 nights but did'nt stay the whole time and left as soon as we could the first night, we couldn't sleep because of being uncomfortable in the bed. We were miserable and our skin itched for a whole day afterward. Of course we were not comped for the night that we did'nt stay so we were out over 200$. We couldn't wait to get out of there. Yes this is the nightmare that you thought never could happen. Well it did. It ruined our trip and we missed an important birthday. Please don't stay here unless you don't care about being comfortable.

Let's just say I will not stay there again. Lamps that did not work to antiwuated bathroom. No walk in shower One had to step over the bathtuub to get into the shower. Not good for senior people.

The beautiful mature trees on the property were amazing. The staff was friendly and professional. Our room was very spacious. The location itself was quiet but the walls seemed to transmit sound from neighboring room more than I would like.

The property really needs updating! Our room was musty and the rug is old and nasty - needs to be removed. The bed was hard and very uncomfortable. The water pressure in the shower was ridiculously low and inadequate. The toilet was running water all night - I had to keep getting up to fix the stopper in the toilet tank so it would stop wasting water and making so much noise. This hotel is much less than 2-star and the money charged was definitely too much. I would never stay at the Butterfly Grove again - be warned: it’s not worth the money! My allergies flared up everytime I stepped into our room #23.. I saw other rooms and they are all the same: smelly and nasty. It’s sad because Pacific Grove is beautiful and the Butterfly Sanctuary is right next door. They use this feature to get people to stay here at this rundown motel and I think that is unfair! I wish we had stayed at the Lighthouse Inn instead.
