Great hotel for a good price in downtown area.

Pros: Price, location, cleanliness. What more could you want.
Cons: Cost of parking. $25 a day, however that seems to be typical for Montreal
Location: Shop Eat Nightlife Sightsee
Arrived somewhat frazzled after a long drive from Toronto fighting construction on 401/20. Note: Found hotel exit 3 off Hwy 20 for Guy closed. ( or Barree, this will be your least favourite french word in Montreal). Took the next exit and had to fight rush hour traffic all the way back to the hotel. That's pretty much all the bad I have to say and nothing to do with the hotel. Good: Check in was a breeze. Eric on the front desk was very, courteous and helpful, as we're all the hotel staff. Although an older hotel, lobby and common areas were very clean. The room was a double, very spacious and clean. We had a small fridge and coffee maker. However, I would skip the room coffee and go to the front desk where you can get a fresh made espresso or regular coffee free anytime of day. Hotel is in a great location. You can easily walk to restaurants and bars on Crescent St and Bishop St area, as well as shopping on St. Catherines. Old Montreal and Old Port is a little further, but still walkable at around 3km. The metro or subway is also close, if you do not want to walk. Can't emphasize enough the importance of a good location for a hotel in Montreal. See aforementioned word 'barree' you do not want to drive around Montreal. Felt very safe walking around the area, always people around and it is across the road from the police station. We did not eat in the hotel, so no comment on the restaurant.

Staff were great

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet, close to everything
Cons: Noisy
Unfortunatly our bathroom door did not close, our sink was clogged and we only had the first 12 channels on TV. When they came to fix the door and unclog the sink, no one came to clean up after therefore our sink was dirty and the floor was full of dust and wood chips. The hotel was walking distance to everything(shopping, bars, restaurants, bus, metro) and the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable.

Pretty good location! Among many nice things: - covered parking garage - you are greeted with... Espresso (or coffee or tea) - clean and nice smelling towels and linens NEGATIVE: Our bathroom had a bunch of hairs in the bathtub (gross)
