I don't typically complain about hotels or leave negative reviews, but my recent stay at the Hotel Riu Palace Paradise Island during my third visit to the Bahamas was deeply disappointing. Throughout our stay, our room had a persistent and unpleasant sewer odor. Compounding this, water continuously dripped from the bathroom vent, directly onto my head while I was using the toilet. I contacted the front desk for maintenance, but after an hour, no one arrived. It took a second call, 20 minutes later, for a technician to finally appear. He speculated the leak was from an upstairs unit and promised to investigate and follow up, but he never returned, and the vent continued to leak. Beyond these issues, we noticed that our sheets were never changed by the maid service; the bed was simply made without fresh linens. To make matters worse, we discovered a cockroach crawling in the bathroom the following day. Thankfully, we were checking out the next day, as I don't believe we could have tolerated another night in such conditions.

Resort was nice. Very few, if almost NO gluten free options in any of the dining areas. Gentleman at check-in was not overly friendly. One worker at the Capuchino bar was rude. Luckily, she was there just for a few evenings. Hugh at the swim up bar was the worst! even tipping for every drink he was not a friendly guy. Just the opposite for the servers in the dining area and cleaning lady for our room. They were overly friendly and very efficient. The servers in the pool area were also friendly. Overall, we had a good experience. Wife is gluten free, so with the lack of food choices for her, we probably will look for other resorts next trip.

The most I can say about this resort is that the staff is A ! 5 stars is not enough. Our first time at an all inclusive and I’m not sure what I went in expecting but my expectations were blown away! Food was fantastic, something different each night with fan favorites offered each night. A cute entertainment show each night, daily activities at the pool and beach. Not much to do after 11:00pm so if you’re looking for an all night party, you may want to look elsewhere. Again, my rating is based mainly on the attention to detail and attentiveness of the 5 star staff!

The hotel itself was old; dresser drawers stuck; no fan in the bathroom. Dirt in the corners of the rooms.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The hotel was very clean. House keeping kept the room clean and the room service staff kept the fridge full. This was our first time in the Bahamas and the RIU left a great impression on us. I was celebrating my birthday and the RIU staff gave me a birthday cake and celebrated me. Please note this is not a party hotel.

Decent property in need of floor renovation, new room furniture ( the furniture in the room we stayed in was painted but really old, toilet flush too weak, buffet always used to literally stink or seafood. For vegetarians it is super nauseous. At the time of checking in please also sign up for restaurant dining. I found it weird that almost half of the restaurants are empty but there is no booking available. The front help desk is really amazing. Overall the people working in the resort are very polite and helpful. The property itself is not that big, it's a decent sized property. The beaches are super clean, the waters gorgeous. The drinks are decent as well. Housekeeping frequency is exceptional. This is one of the few places where we did not have to keep calling the front desk for housekeeping. The sleeping beds are barely OK.

Dinner reservations almost impossible. You have to use the app - and make them 2 days in advance. The joke is- get up at 1:00am make reservations for 2 days in advance or you won't get any and to be honest it's true. Kicker is - you walk by any restaurant at any given time the tables are EMPTY but they won't let you seat, they tell you they are over booked - but the tables are empty. The guy at the steak house was about as rude as rude could be, he actually put up his finger and said you need to listen to me I said we are completely book. Most of the staff was friendly, however one of the bartenders named Tweety should probably learn that rolling your eyes at someone who is asking for change so you CAN TIP HER is not the best way to get someone to want to tip you. No lie I had a $10.00 bill wanted to get some 1.00's so I could tip her, and she rolled her eyes at me. The next time I went up she helped 2 other people that came up after me, in fact someone had to say - Um- she was here before me. I will say that everyone in the Calypso bar and bartender Kay were very very nice. HUGE shout out to a bell boy named Romell - Top of his game, biggest friendliest smile. Every day would see me and have some sort of a little prank. Our room had problems, I turned on the hair dryer and flames shot out, our bathroom ceiling leaked so bad water was running down the wall. Many people we talked to had the same struggles but said the other RIU's are great - not sure if I'll try them or not

This place was great. The beach, the people, the food, the room was all great. The only issue I had was the $1,200 credit they advertised. All they offered for this was coupons and discounts that were mostly for other nearby businesses and I don't think they even added up to $1,200. I was hoping to use this credit for a massage or an excursion but was unable to so I feel like this was falsely advertised.

staff was not very friendly or accommodating. They never restocked our fridge. Had to request it three times and they came once. Never changed our sheets and found an toenail on the comforter. food and entertainment was mediocre.
