I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Westgate, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Location: The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of the city, making it easy to explore nearby attractions and restaurants. The surrounding area is vibrant and full of life, yet the hotel itself offers a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle. Room: My room was small but clean. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I appreciated the thoughtful touches like the complimentary bottled water and high-quality toiletries. The view from my window was a partial view of the east river offering a picturesque glimpse of the city skyline. Service: The service at the Westgate was impeccable. Every staff member I encountered was friendly, professional, and eager to assist with any request. They truly made me feel welcome and valued as a guest.

I like the property because it is right by the M 42 bus line which is super convenient. It is also right near Grand Central Station. It was quiet and far enough removed from Times Square that it wasn’t overwhelming. I also liked the on-site bar/coffee/canteen. Service Staff was fantastic!

Pros and cons

Hotel is nice. It's a smaller hotel so be prepared. We booked the biggest room the had, top floor with one of the few balcony rooms in Manhattan, and a separate bedroom. The only real complaint is the the heating system is a boiler system and didn't work properly. The first night we woke up to a 65 degree bedroom. They couldn't get the heat fixed so we had radiator heaters in the bedroom and front room. Staff was very friendly, but the bartender left a lot to be desired. Overall it's a good hotel with a great location. It's close to Grand Central station so if you know how to navigate the subway that's a plus.
