The gentleman who checked us in was nice; they had cancelled our reservation, but he called and got it fixed. The parking was already full, so several of us had to park across the 6 lane street with a walking timer that didn’t work. Our key card wouldn’t work by the time we got to our room. The smoke detector battery started beeping at 7 am. The shower was very low pressure and hot water was confusing to get. Clean room and beds. Quiet to sleep. Inexpensive compared to larger hotel chains around it.

Pleasantly Surprised

Wasn’t sure what to expect as the price was so low compared to neighboring hotels. Spent only one night, but it was good. The gentleman at the front desk was very polite and helpful. The room was just what we needed, not too fancy and enough room for our family of four. The only issue was the faucet in the shower was loose and it was hard to get it to a good, warm temperature with enough water pressure to fully wash and rinse.

The Bed was Comfortable..

Thanks to Hotels.com I was able to get a great rate on my stay at the Philly Inn & Suites. On my day of check-in I arrived at the location and was unsure until I was up on it that it was the correct address. The exterior looks more like a corporate office than an actual hotel. Also, as the main sign sits back off the sidewalk it wasn’t until my ride share was letting me out that I realized I was at the correct place. As check in is at 3:00 pm and I arrived at 11:30 am, I was unable to check in as there isn’t an early check in option. I asked if there was a business center and was advised there was not. As there was not a business area I sat in the lobby area and worked until it was time to check in. Sitting in the main area, which was very clean, I realized that the pictures online, though they are current, they had to be filtered. The Philly Inn & Suites looks a bit outdated, however, it has undergone a recent pair face lift. The colors are very vibrant and inviting. However, the foundational structure beneath the colors and amazing portraits is dated. Once I was checked in I headed upstairs to my room. I got to the third floor and the same remained true for the living area. Vibrant. Great paintings. Older structure, new reface via paint. I loved the colored room doors as it puts you in the mindset of elementary school (for me it did). Once I opened my door, I was pleased to be met with a clean room. The staff members are fine, walls are thin. What really made it a poor experience was the bed and pillows. The bed is extremely hard and that's coming from owning a firm mattress and sleeping on a mat on the floor. The pillows barely have anything in them. It's very uncomfortable.

Cozy Gem near Manayunk

I am so lucky to discover Philly Inn & Suites, & will try to stay again. I was arriving after midnight from DC, & was able to stay with a prepaid booking- call in advance to confirm a room number. The staff are very generous & location is very close to Manayunk & Wissahickon neighborhoods.

The staff here is awesome. Super helpful and kind. But the hotel itself is blah. Floors are super dirty in the room. They will turn your feet black. Started keeping socks in the bathroom so right out of the shower we could put them on. Very little water pressure. Whoever did the updating/remodeling of the rooms, horrible job. It literally looks like no effort was put in. Breaking tile while installing, installed it anyways, cling on window tint on windows no even to edge of window, areas not fully painted, the list goes on. Bottom of bathroom door frame was rusted and corroded away. Leaving sharp and dangerous surfaces for our 2 year old. They put a barn door on the bathroom but left the old rusted door hinges on the frame? Leaving yet another sharp dangerous hazard for small children. Unless its middle of the night its highly unlikely youll be able to make a left turn onto the property. So just plan on circling to make a right turn for hotel. All in all, I would stay here again IF it were just me, and only for one night, maybe two. And thats just based of the front desk employees being good people. But of youre a family looking for somewhere to stay and for more than one night, look elsewhere.

Lovely hotel! Very friendly staff. We've stayed here multiple times over the last few years. My only complaint is there are work trucks always parked just outside the parking garage that make it VERY difficult to see oncoming traffic when exiting the property.
