This is my second time staying at Penn's View (last stay 04-07-2025 - 04-11-2025). I am somewhat pleased with my visit but I had reserved a room with a Juliet balcony facing Market Street. Was put in a room with one window instead. Although Penn's View has no responsibility within the neighborhood it appears the area has become more sketchy since 2025.

This hotel is so charming, this is my first time staying in an older building and I really loved the vibe. I like that they don’t have room cards, that they actually use keys for the rooms. They also let me check my bag so I didn’t have to lug it around the city while I waited for my train back. The staff is very friendly and I would absolutely recommend this hotel for your stay. The hotel is also close to the subway which made it very easy to get around the city.

The heat in the room was so loud that we had to keep it off to sleep even though it was very cold outside. The fitted sheet also kept falling off the bed and the mattress cover was ripped. The room definitely could have benefited from curtains as well to help with the light at night. The hotel itself was very nice and it’s a nice perk to have the wine bar/restaurant on site.

We had an excellent stay here during Philly’s recent snow storm. While most restaurants were closed the hotel made sure to provide an option for take out dinner or ice cream. The staff was friendly and the Family Room Suite was perfect for our stay with my sister & mom. Heater worked well and loved the windows and balcony to watch the snow. Many dining and attractions within walking distance. Would definitely stay here again. Take note parking next to hotel is $37/night
