Location was great (very walkable) and communication with the very kind host was consistently quick. Even the rainy hunt for the key was fine. The issues started once we got inside.
I paid $915 for three nights in a âluxury apartment,â but it was not. The furniture was cheap and worn - the âdouble sofa bedâ was just a piece of fabric stretched over a wooden frame with no padding left. The mattresses were thin (6â?), the shower mat was dingy, the toilet brush had visible remnants from the previous tenant, several vertical blinds in the living room were missing/broken so people on the street and in the parking garage could see directly in. The laundry area had doors off their hinges, the thin rug was curling up, and the sink clanked constantly.
The door lock battery was dying when we arrived. I reported it twice but no one ever showed up to ensure we wouldnât get locked out. Every time we left we prayed weâd be able to get back in. On top of that, we were told the unit has AUDIO MONITORING to âdetect parties.â With a camera already above the front door, the idea of listening devices inside felt so incredibly intrusive. It was impossible to relax knowing strangers were actively listening to us inside what should be a private space. Wouldnât stay here again just because of that. So creepy.
Great location and quick communication, but the condition of the unit and the privacy concerns made the stay uncomfortable and nowhere near âluxury.â
