Do not stay here, they love to scam tourist. They nearly double the price of my stay with fees. The hotel is run down and looks nothing like its pictures. Also expect to be scammed in strong armed into payong. Basically double the costs with undiclosed fees and can not get any refund to go to another hotel. I wish I could give them more engative reviews. Ruined my vacation and put us way over budget, almost double thanks to this shady hotel. Worse stay of my life!!!! Also the view I paid extra for was terrible!!!! This entire hotel is a scam!!!

Don’t listen to the reviews of the toxic, high maintenance kweens who complain about the Blue Chairs Resort! If you’re a down-to-earth person looking for a budget-friendly gay resort on the beach in Puerto Vallarta, the Blue Chairs Resort meets all needs and more. The staff are wonderful, friendly, and helpful. The massage therapists are super professional and top-notch. I stayed in a Breezy Blue Jr. Suite and it was perfect for my needs. It had AC, a super comfortable bed, refrigerator, microwave, stove, dishes, closet, walk-in shower with hot water, a large balcony with a stunning ocean view, and other amenities. The pool on the first floor was excellent. The rooftop bar was fantastic and had amazing ocean views. The drag shows on the rooftop bar were also fun and entertaining. The resort elevators are new and work great. The stairwells are also perfectly fine (I rolled my eyes when I remembered a review comment about the stairwells being dirty and feeling unsafe to someone). The Blue Chairs Beach Club was where I spent most of my time relaxing in the blue chairs and being waited on by such friendly and helpful staff. The drink options were excellent too and they even had non-alcoholic beer. My only feedback would be to add some vegan options to the beach club food menu, but even that isn’t a big deal because there are such amazing vegan and vegan-friendly restaurants in town. All-in-all, I had an amazing time at the Blue Chairs Resort and I can’t wait to go back!

We reserved a beachfront penthouse - when we arrived our room was facing the back of the property, ocean no where to be seen. We were moved the next day to what we reserved. Two days without hot water!! The penthouse itself as dirty and musty If you did not take a quick shower the water would run over in the bathroom. The towels were like sandpaper. and sheets musty.. I could go on - the photos proved of the rooms must be 20 years old and reviews fake!! I have stayed in many hotels around the world - this is one of the worse. The only bright spot was the bar and service staff across the street at the bar!!

Building is in disrepair. All pools have chips or missing tiles. During my one week stay the only pool that ANYONE used was the small rooftop pool in the bar. The staff is neither friendly nor not friendly. Bar staff is friendly. Air conditioner unit on balcony blows hot air onto the balcony making it uncomfortable to sit and enjoy the views. Beautiful location, beautiful views from ocean view rooms. Food and drinks are good. For the cost (off season), it’s an acceptable place. Next time I would spend a little more to stay in a better maintained hotel

The hotel is average, not extremely nice or modern. My room seemed clean. The hot water in the shower did not work. Even leaving it running for 5-10 minutes, the water never got warmer than room temperature. There was one night where someone was blasting music in the alley (not sure they were affiliated with the hotel) which made it very difficult to sleep. Really enjoyed the restaurant out near the beach - food was good and the service great. Also enjoyed the rooftop bar and drag show. I wish the pools were more well maintained. They did not seem inviting. The beach in front of the hotel was amazing, also with great service.

The staff is super friendly and the rooms are spacious and clean. The outside of the property coud use a facelift, however, you are not staying outside. This is probably my 5th time staying at blue chairs and I will definitely stay again. They have adult shows every night on the rooftop patio so you don't have to in town for a drink and a show. The ocean views are to die for!!! For the price and those views its totally worth it!

I was extremely dissatisfied the day of our arrival and was prepared to give this property a terrible rating. After waiting several hours and changing rooms three times, we were finally given a room that was acceptable and had working air conditioning. The facility itself is in terrible shape and in bad need of upgrade. What changed my mind and made me rate this property as okay is the staff. Most of the employees are exceptional and go out of their way to provide an exceptional experience for their guests, in particular the beach, bar and restaurant staff. The housekeepers also do a good job keeping the rooms clean and stocked but again, the facility itself is rundown and in bad shape. Air conditioning doesn’t work properly, plumbing barely works, there were things broken in the room, and there were times I was not certain the elevator was going to make it safely. In conclusion, I was very disappointed in this property but we still had a good time purely because of the employees. We made the best of it but I probably would not book at this hotel again. It’s unfortunate because the location is desirable in the Zona Romantica and very close to the beach and the place has so much potential.
