The staff was outstanding and extremely accommodating and friendly. The balcony view was awesome. Watched whales in the bay from our room. Maid refreshed our room daily.

What a fantastic place to stay! Very clean and attentive staff. The wrist bands are made of material so no worries about cutting yourself Our room was cleaned and amenities stocked everyday. It was the first place that has given us facecloths!! Our fridge was stocked as well. There is one restaurant that you need to make a reservation for however there was no issue getting into it. Its menu changed everyday and it was delicious. There is the main restaurant area that you could just sit at (no reservation) and it was by menu as well. Just note that despite having the all inclusive band on, you still have to sign your bill. All the food was delicious and big portions. They do a huge Mexican Buffet on Fridays. You can also order lunch food from a special menu and it is served to you at your lounge chair. There is a place that makes delicious pizzas and calzones. That’s also where you can get ice cream. A coffee shop is onsite and they’ll make fresh smoothies, crepes, waffles, fresh fruit, pastries, churros and paninis. People did save loungers, however there were always empty ones and it didn’t seem to be an issue. The bar service was great around the pool and on the beach. Great variety of drinks alcoholic and non alcoholic. There isn’t a lot of entertainment which we were fine with. No loud music. Just a great place to relax. There is a kids club that has activities all day. The lounge does have a band most nights that was good. It was a fantastic stay!

Front desk staff didn't seem to want to help us. The room was very cold and we asked for extra blankets at the front desk. They never came. We called from our room later that day and they finally came with a blanket. Shower water was cold the day of arrival any the entire second day. Rest of staff was great.

The room was supposed to be ocean front, but more look at garden front and ocean view! The new building had oceanfront suites which we didn't get one. Also, we had requested for a corner suite on the top floor. But we were given a corner suite on the 8th floor of 14 story building, even though the higher ones were empty (dark at night).

They are building a new tower / a lot of construction noise! No warning about this. Also the place needs updating eg elevators, bathrooms, pool facilities, etc. But food was good and staff friendly. A bit cheap to charge us for lunch on checkout day as we waited for our late afternoon flight.

This was our 4 time staying at the Sunset Plaza, and our last. It was terrible from the moment we arrived until we left. It was at one time a beautiful place to stay. The food was like prison food, I got food poisoning one night and spent 4 days ill. The food was institutional and I couldn’t bare to go down for a meal, so we ended up eating off site a lot, even though we paid huge money for staying 6 days. Everyone we talked to didn’t like the food and most went off site to eat. The restaurant staff was good, but the desk staff and butlers were very dismissive, one day after a couple of hours at the beach I went back up to our room and the door was wide open with no one inside. I went down to the butlers and they said oh no, we will check the cameras and find out who had been in there, I said that one was one thing the other was I was afraid to go in, thought someone might be in there, so a butler came up and check, no one was in there there. I asked twice if they had found out who had been in the room and they kept telling me they hadn’t gone thru the camera video yet, I’m thinking to myself there probably is no video….WORST HOTEL EVER NOW!!!!! Avoid this place!!!!!

Beach view Places been under construction for seven years it’s a little noisy There’s a new owner here and the hotel itself has a major decline. The people that work There are very nice and understanding and they do their best. The food is decent overall I would not stay here ever ever ever again.
