Book a hotel near Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester

"I had booked a king room but was given a double queen. The door to the room was out of alignment so you had to shoulder it open and closed. The shower handle to regulate temperature was loose so you had to hold onto the handle with one hand and wash with the other. That was quite a scene. The front desk sent the maintenance man to the room but he was unable to solve either issue. He said he would document my situations"

"The night manager was wonderful and very responsive. She personally came to remedy the problem. Here is what happened...We checked in late to our room and unfortunately, housekeeping didn't clean our room. When my son was getting ready to go to sleep, he noticed the sheets were soiled. We also noticed that used towels were still hanging from the hooks."

"Upon arrival, no toilet paper in the room. Check-in time scheduled but not allowed to until almost 5:00 PM"

"We stayed in room 101 at the Econo Lodge April 16-19. The ice machine was not working. Staff said it had been down for a while & they didn’t know when it would be fixed. We had to get ice at the 7/11 across the street. The fan in the AC unit (which was on low) was so loud we couldn’t sleep & had to turn it off. The ceiling in the bathroom had a leak which had stained 2 large ceiling tiles & dripped onto a box of tissues. Neither the ceiling tiles nor the tissues had been replaced. On the plus side the room was clean, the bed comfortable, towels were ample & the TV worked. Our room faced the back and was quiet. Very good location with easy access to restaurants, shopping & Rochester and staff are all very pleasant & helpful. When I asked for an additional pillow the young man on overnight found me one right away. We have stayed here before and want to continue to do so but it’s important to us that the owners accept their responsibility to repair equipment & facilities promptly. "

"This was the worst place I’ve ever stayed at hotel staff was not helpful. On the site it says they serve breakfast but when I got there, there’s a sign saying breakfast has been discontinued. That’s false advertising. I stayed for 2 days and staff didn’t change my linens. They didn’t even have forks when I ordered takeout. It was just a bad experience overall"

"Room smelled like cat pee, sheets were dirty, had an exposed power outlet next to bed that made me nervous. Staff asked if we wanted to switch rooms, no thanks, found a different hotel. No problem getting a refund, front desk was easy to work with."
