The hotel itself is beautiful and charming. The bar and restaurant offered great cocktails and a decent yogurt fruit and granola bowl for breakfast. The room itself is small but cozy. All that I needed for a single night stay. I enjoyed taking my coffee in the morning in the secret garden. I’d say things to improve are offering more dimmable lighting or other options for softer lighting. Sconces and overhead lights were too bright for late evening. Finally, the hotel is downtown but the level of noise in the early morning was even more than I expected. Even through earplugs I was still rudely woken by garbage pick up which seemed to last for two hours or maybe just because I was trying desperately to fall back asleep. My partner who could sleep through a tornado was barely inconvenienced so if you’re a deep sleeper this will be no problem, if you’re not, be sure to bring amazing noise canceling equipment. Overall would still stay again with better earplugs.

I booked this hotel because it was right next to the (sold-out) hotel my co-workers were staying at. I wasn't expecting much because there was an event in town and the prices everywhere were sky-high, but The Beau was hundreds less per night than other nearby hotels. Holy cow, was I impressed!! The hotel was a super cute all brick, boutique hotel. Every guest is treated as VIP, there is an adorable bar/eats in the lobby with a cozy fire place. Concierge will personally carry your luggage to your room (there is no elevator) where you will find a small, but quaint room with all modern, updated decor. The bathroom was was also recently updated. The bed and pillows were super comfortable. This hotel really goes out of their way to make sure you are happy with your stay. The area is perfect, walking distance to most attractions and is in the Gaslamp area.

This property is a good place to base yourself for the Gaslamp Quarter. One block further up and you do start to get a little more risky. The room was clean albeit a little small but adequate. The only downside was the small air con unit that really didn’t do very much. I set mine to 72F and when I came on, it was really noisy. The room above was quite loud too, they would drop things on the floor and I would reverberate into my room. The bar - great drinks. The staff, Sarah, Giovanni and Elijah excellent. The reception - Halley (not sure of the spelling) was great, giving me some records stores to check out as well. Overall, I would stay here again.

This property is as it states, a boutique hotel. 3 floors. No elevator and no central AC but we managed and the staff bring the luggage up and down the stairs. Quaint small room with not much in it but the location and price was great for 1 night. There were restaurants within close walking distance. Don’t see many shops.
