Our stay at Hotel Rumbao, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel was a mixed experience, mainly due to poor service, lack of organization, and inconsistent housekeeping. The check-in process was disorganized and unprofessional. The front desk staff was not very polite or welcoming, and communication was inconsistent. We were repeatedly told the room would be ready shortly, only to be asked to wait again. It felt unfair, as if rooms were being assigned arbitrarily without a clear system or explanation. Guest services were also disappointing. According to our Expedia booking, the room should include an electric kettle and a coffee maker. While there was a coffee maker in the room, it did not work properly, and there was no electric kettle. After multiple calls and waiting several hours, we were only provided with a pot of hot water. Later, we were told the hotel does not provide electric kettles and that guests should get hot water from the restaurant themselves. Housekeeping was extremely inconsistent. During our four-days stay, our room was cleaned only once, and that was late in the afternoon on the last night (around 5 PM), only after following up twice with the front desk, despite daily housekeeping being advertised. Even more frustrating, the housekeeping staff discarded food and fruit we had purchased that were inside a bag, without checking the contents of the bag or confirming with us first. This was unacceptable.

Hotel is conveniently located at old town San Juan. It’s clean but definitively older. The service was however very slow. We waited a very long time to get seated for breakfast and quite a long time to get served. The check out desk had only one clerk and tons of people to check in and out. We waited for about 30 Minutes to check out

We loved this hotel. Everyone working there is incredibly friendly. The entire process was very easy. Our room was very comfortable and clean. The restaurant and bar were both excellent. We’ll stay again next year.

The hotel was very nice, clean and very comfortable. It was located closed we’re all the cruises arrived. They do have a bar/ restaurant as well as their main restaurant, but we used the bar for small plates and drinks and the staff was very friendly. I really liked this hotel, I will come back next time I visit PR.

They charge 26 dollars a day for parking. In my opinion they should charge less for the customers of Rumbau.

The hotel is very clean and beautiful. However, for travel during holiday periods, I recommend thinking it through carefully. We arrived on the 29th, and check-in was scheduled for 4:00 p.m.; however, our room was not ready at that time. We were finally given access to the room at 9:30 p.m., apparently due to a staff shortage. The staff was very kind and made an effort to resolve the situation and offer compensation.
