Known throughout the world as the city built on water, given its construction on 100 islands in the lagoon, Venice is one of Italy's most popular locations worldwide.
It is a real open-air museum, thanks to its historical and artistic heritage made of churches, palaces, and museums.
Strolling through Venice is like diving in the past: the so-called calli (streets) are dotted and framed by aristocratic buildings such as the Doge's Palace, the historic home of the Doges, spectacular bridges including the famous Rio Alto Bridge, and canals navigable by gondolas, waterbuses, and boats of all kinds.
The heart of the city is the enchanting St. Mark's Square, which houses the Basilica of the same name and welcomes thousands of tourists from all over the world every day.
The most famous local event is definitely the Carnival, thanks to its centuries-old tradition of masks and costumes that enliven the streets every year.
Last but not least, the famous "BĂ caro Tour" is a must: a tour among taverns where to taste local wine along with cicheti, typical Venetian tasty bites.
The accommodation is a 12-minute walk from Venice Santa Lucia Station and 13 km from Venice Marco Polo Airport.
On certain dates of the year, visitors must pay an access fee of EUR 5-10 per person per day to enter Venice. Those with accommodation in Venice are exempt from paying this. Guests must however request an exemption voucher in advance and present it with an identity document on arrival. To check affected dates, fees and request an exemption, visit cda.ve.it/en/.

The place is spacious, pretty clean and very nicely located. We were there during a heat wave in late October we but the thermostat is locked so you can’t control the temperature. The canal is nice but we didn’t sit on porch because the canal smells a little stagnant. Overall a nice stay though
The apartment is well designed, spacious and located overlooking a small canal. Its very central and in walking distance of the centre and restaurants which is great. It was generally clean except for a lot of cutlery and crocery in the kitchen which needed washing...the coffee maker still had old coffee in it when we got it out.We had issues with the A/c which kept cutting out and not cooling properly. We could reach the property managers head office in Milan ( and Ludovicka tried her best to be helpful), but the numbers for local personel did not work at all even though it was advertised as concactable 9am to 11pm....it was not. We had to wait for the next day for the ac technician to come and check the AC....it was a hot night. He also had to come a few times the next day and ended up having to show us how to reset the AC unit which was tripping out every few hours. It was quite frustrating trying to get in contact with the local venice staff...and the emergency number did not work. The AC technician was great and friendly. We considered checking into different accomodation at one point but glad we didnt. They need to sort out the AC system and local contact numbers as its a nice apartment otherwise.
