The property was conveniently located near the main square. This enabled us to explore a lot of the main Barcelona attractions by foot. The local bus, Aero bus and metro were located footsteps away from the hotel. The selections of cafes, restaurants and mini-markets were endless.

I stayed here with my husband and 10 yr old son. I deliberately chose this location due to its very close proximity to all main transport links- airport bus, metro, hop on bus, general bus etc. I was not disappointed and not only was the hotel very beautiful it was situated in a place where we could easily get around the metro system across the city. It was also handy for fast food places and shopping, but the hotel restaurant & bar were ideal too. Staff were very helpful and polite at all times. The nearby gelato store was out of this world! Would highly recommend to others and would definitely consider staying here again if I returned to Barcelona.

Everything you may need as a family. Not overly luxurious, so if that’s what you are looking for, this might not be it. Very obscure entrance but super centrally located. Forgot something? El Corte Ingles is right in front. Need a snack? Supermercat right next door. Would for sure stay again.

I have 2 bookings made through Hotels.com for a total of 4 nights (1 -5 May 2025) at Catalonia Square. However, upon arrival I was told that there was a pipe leakage, and I was walked to another hotel under the chain 2 blocks away. I later found out that the Catalonia Passeig de Gràcia Hotel, where I was walked to had lower rates for all 4 nights of my stay, which comes to a total difference of nearly EUR249. Hotels.com tried to deflect my request of getting a refund of the difference by saying that cancellation is not refundable. I had to repeatedly tell the different agents at Hotels.com multiple times that I am not seeking to cancel my bookings as I have already checked-in and not going to inconvenience myself to move again. Long and short, I am only offered a total of EUR 21 for the difference, which is very far from the actual difference. If anyone choose to stay at any property in Hotel Catalonia chain near Placa Catalunya, always select the lower price, as you might end up walked from higher priced ones to a lower priced one.
