You really can’t get much better of a location. This is why we booked here. Walkable to literally everywhere. The hotel itself is very nice even had some vegan options for breakfast and roadies (although we didn’t know breakfast was an additional charge). I expected the room to be a bit nicer. There was nothing wrong with it and it was clean, but for how nice the lobby of the hotel looks, I thought the rooms would match and have a more luxurious feel. Sadly they were pretty basic rooms but still nice and still clean. Overall it was a more expensive option for us, but for the location and convenience and overall cleanliness, this was a great stay.
Excellent location! So close to everything in Old Town - less than 5 mins to all of our tour meet-up spots. Great vibe in the hotel. Comfortable beds. Enjoyed the bar in evening, and delicious bfast (add-on) in the mornings. Staff very friendly and helpful. Space to store bags if leaving later than check-out time. Don’t miss crossing the bridge into New Town as there are lots of great spots to eat and sights to see over there as well!
Fabulous location! Easily walkable to most of Edinburgh's attractions. Close to Waverly station and tram stop Clean, well appointed rooms. Helpful desk staff.
For such a price point and pretty lobby, it’s still a motel, and not a very comfortable or accommodating one. I’m not sure how it gets such high ratings.
The worst thing is the cold that I have to suffer through the first night. I told the front desk, in which they brought in a portable heater—that’s broken. I brought it all the way down to the front desk in the night but there no one there. The room was as cold as the outside about 10C and that’s the whole night.
There’re other smaller things too.
Some rooms are in another building, with stairs , and I have to walk ways over with a suitcase. There’s basically no sound proof. There’s not even a phone to call the front desk but have they thought about tourist who doesn’t have cellular service?
I’ve stayed in better hotel in London for slightly cheaper prices. What a mess.
