Helpful and pleasant staff, lovely quiet and warm room, nice breakfast, great location near station and Edinburgh attracti9ons. Handy to be able to leave luggage after checking out.
Front desk staff were very attentive and fast checkin. Room very comfortable and clean, hot water and a/c. Our room was in the back so the view from the room was amazingly beautiful. We were there for one night didn’t ate at the hotel.
Perfect location in front of Waverly metro and train station, taxi corner and airport transfer right at the bridge. Castle snd museums, Royal mile all about 7 minutes up hill. Restaurants and pubs all around it. Service impeccable, great views and great food. Thank you mitelnone, you were amazing. If I ever come back to Scotland, I will stay with you again!!!
Great hotel in the heart of Edinburgh, walking distance to absolutely everything. Clean room, compact but perfect for a weekend away. Well worth a stay.
Bathroom: allthrough Clean, looks very designer spec.
It is not realy pratical. Hooks are round horizontal pegs that allow whatever you try to hange on them to end up on the floor. A bent nail would have been more pratical.Sihk does not have a plug , it is designed that way , so tap must be left running and thats no good for the environment. Shower tended to leave a large puddle on the floor as it only has a half screen.Didnt like paper cups for the tea or coffee,. Again what a waste over a year per person, so thats not good for the environment either. The room and service was very good though. So need to sort out the bathrooms in my opinion, they look very nice but so impractical, no points for the designer.
Ive stayed a few Motel One's and this without exception is the best. I arrived at the motel at 10am to drop my bag off, and even at this early time the front desk tried to find me a room, without me even asking. Nothing was available but the front desk noticed I had 2 rooms booked, and asked if I'd like them close to each other. Sometimes, its the little things that make the difference. The rooms were moderately sized but were super clean, and well stocked with the bits a traveller would need. For the price point, and in my opinion there is nothing better on the market.
Motel One Royal is a great option if you wanna be a block away from the royal mile and within a walking distance from a lot of tourist atractions. Right in the verge of Old Town, you have access to both Old & New Town Edinburgh, history & shopping, a lot of restaurants and pubs to choose from. Facilities are beatiful and clean, staff is really friendly and helpful (although at night they’re harder to find at the reception desk). If it’s your fist time to the city, this hotel is perfect spot to be! Highly recommended!
The hotel should print instructions in other languages and explain how to use the thermostat and how to open/close skylights. Instructions - if they exist - are in German, and the little pictures on what appears to be the thermostat (?) are incomprehensible.
