Amazing property with wonderful views. Very comfortable interior. So good you won’t want to leave! Great location but be ready to walk hills to and from in Lisbon! Extremely quiet and peaceful at night. Very accommodating for our group age range from 1 year old to 70 years old. Would stay again, no question.

Magical Penthouse

Our drive into Lisbon was a bit rocky (rush hour) and although our host, Marta, was clear about not attempting to drive to the apartment, I drove as far as I could (about .4 miles away) so my wife and family could "walk" to the penthouse apartment while I somehow found my way back to the airport to return our car. I called my brother in law on my way back in a taxi and asked how the apartment looked and he said "beyond your wildest imagination". He was right - the apartment, multiple penthouse patios, the rooms, amenities, THE VIEWS were all AMAZING. Marta was so helpful and kindly responded to us very promptly. We were greeted with a bottle of wine and snacks as well! The location was amazing - be prepared to walk some hills in Lisbon! I would recommend this wonderful apartment to anyone!

Best View in Lisbon

You simply can not find a better terrace in Lisbon. Simply amazing. As others have noted, this is inside the castle walls. This brings amazing charm, as well as tourists. Be prepared for serious walking to get down and out of the castle. We are an active family and found the extra steps and calf workout to be a plus. There are little groceries within 7 mins and a big complete grocery within 10 min walk. Restaurants are everywhere. We cooked in about half our meals. Even for nights eating out we did wine and cheese before taking in the views on the terrace, and often some port at the end of the evening. Also as others have noted, there is a musty smell on the lower level from old plumbing. We had the windows open constantly which brought in fresh air, so it was fine. However, in colder months, or got very sensitive noses, this will be an issue. AC works well. Beats and towels are all great. Communication was excellent! There was a problem with a lock and a handy man was sent quickly and all issues resolved.

Stunning View

This property is located inside the walls of Castelo de S. Jorge on the highest point in Lisbon. This location provides breath-taking views of the entire city. This stunning apartment is a perfect retreat from a busy day walking the streets. Beware; the cost of this view is the steep climb to the apartment. Taxies are the only mode of transportation allowed within the castle walls - so no Uber. The apartment itself is beautiful with two full bedrooms/bathrooms. However, one of the bedrooms is definitely smaller and less luxurious than the other. The property is managed by a rental company and lacks the personal touch that we have experienced in other VRBOs. All around a great experience!

Great spacious apartment with an Amazing view of the city! A bit tricky to get to it if you are driving. Had to park nearby and get a taxi ( who had hard time getting there). Overall great experience. One of the bathroom had an unpleasant odor.

Lisbon Alfama area

This was a very nice property with fantastic views of the greater Lisbon bay area as it sits atop a hill and the apartment is on the top level. The apartment had all of the expected amenities and communication with the managers was easy thru WhatsApp. The location is in the St. George Castle area and the biggest challenge is the narrow cobblestone streets. There are a number of small cafes and restaurants very close so going out to eat was easy. Altogether this property is a great place to spend time in Lisbon.

Incredible spot in Lisbon

Magnificent views of Lisbon in three directions make this place very special. The beds are very comfortable, the location is quiet, there’s plenty of storage space to unpack. The kitchen is well appointed and the dining area seats 4 comfortably. Three days in Lisbon wasn’t long enough!

Oh, the view!

What a perfect property! It was our first trip to Portugal (group of 4 adults) and if we never left the apartment, it still would have been wonderful. The views were second to none--a gentle breeze, a glass of wine, and the expanse of the city and the ocean made our happy hours happier. Caterina was super easy to access (although we needed nothing). We appreciated the coffee, the wine, and the many wine glasses as our love of the Douro Valley grew throughout the week. The property is more beautiful than advertised--clean, safe, well-equipped and quiet. We slept like kings. If you are looking for a rocking neighborhood after dark, this is not it—but we could get everything we needed, including all sorts of transportation and some pretty amazing pancakes just outside the castle walls. We would (and hopefully will) stay in this property again!

Lisbon is at your feet!

A great location and I guess this was not mentioned yet 😊: a stunning view - wow, wow, wow! We had a super time there together with another couple and it was pretty easy to reach the interesting spots in the city from there, provided you also like to walk a bit. The only things which need some urgent maintenance in the appartment are the ultrasoft matresses and the slightly unpleasant smell in the bathroom.

Perfect apartment!

This apartment was wonderful! The photos do not lie. The views are amazing! We were met by Jose at the castle gate. It is a short walk to the apartment. He was very thorough and answered all of our questions. During our stay in Lisbon he was available through WhatsApp to assist us also. The apartment is well located. We walked everywhere. Bring comfortable shoes! Lisbon is gorgeous and this apartment is as well. They keep the apartment modestly stocked (coffee, laundry soap, etc). The grocery store is nearby, just in case. Rent this apartment. It will not disappoint. Enjoy the views with a bottle of wine (or two). Cheers!

fabulous view

This apartment has an amazing view of Lisbon, wonderful outdoor spaces, and was very comfortable. We had a problem with the washing machine and they were very responsive to our call. It does require a bit of a walk over cobblestones to get to, but we enjoyed the neighborhood. My only suggestion is that the blue and white tiled bathroom could use some spiffing up and it had a very unpleasant smell. But we would definitely stay there again, if only for the breathtaking views.

Best View in Lisbon

We had 2 couples stay here for 4 nights and could not have been happier. The team at Lisbonne Collection were outstanding including having some champagne, flowers and a couple of special requests at the location prior to our arrival. Jose was especially helpful getting us to the location and with being available to answer any questions about the local area. It has one of the best views in LIsbon and is in a very good location within walking distance of many good restaurants. I would recommend this rental for a great vacation spot in Lisbon.

Limited Transportation Access

The apartment views are as fabulous as the photographs depict. It is among the highest places in the entire city; there is no point seeking other venues to see a great view...you will have the best from every room in the apartment, and the wonderful terraces. However...the trade off for those views and what they, unfortunately, don’t tell you (even after we pointedly asked about transportation access) is that the Alfama is restricted access (where the apartment is located is barred by bollards to those who don’t have passcode/card access). Worse, even those with access either can’t find the apartment or won’t drive there. Don’t count on ANY Uber service and very limited taxi service and, then, only to the castle, which is several hundred yards down steep cobblestone streets from the apartment. It is especially problematic going to and from the airport; you will have to drag your luggage up and down the cobblestone to the apartment. Keep in mind: if you don’t want to or are physically unable to hike EVERY TIME you want to go anywhere, you will not be happy. You will spend a LOT of time waiting for taxi service and having to go to it rather than it coming to you. Finally, the interior of the apartment is trending toward run down...especially the living room (tired, worn upholstery;cheap furnishings) and the second bath (poor water pressure, broken faucetry in the shower.) Could be great; unfortunately, it wasn’t.
