Reasonable hotel, with good location, but the door deadbolt was a problem, the hair dryer plug didn't fit in the receptacle ("Most people bring a converter!") and I saw a rat outside! However, biggest problem was the price, because of Easter weekend, I ended up paying $275/night Canadian, instead of the usual $91Cdn or similar.
Staff was rude upon check-in and we did not even end up staying at the hotel. Other guests were complaining about the cleanliness and the functioning of the shower heads in the rooms. We had to scramble to find another hotel last minute because of the way we were treated upon check-in. Do not recommend this hotel at ALL. They are prolonging the refund process even though they know of the situation that happened to us at check-in. Please save your money and don’t ever book here.
For a cheap price hotel in the middle of London, this place is decent. Short walk to Paddington station is a big plus.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
The bed was on castors which caused it to continually slip away from the head board leaving a gap as you slept. There was some broken wood around the head board and generally a few maintenance issues needed attention. Otherwise a quiet and comfortable stay.

Our “twin” room, Rm 2, was very small - given the smallest room in the hotel!! Nowhere to put open suitcases. No aircon. Bathroom was minute. Very little room between toilet, hand basin & shower. Approx 1 mtr wide. Only suitable for small to average sized people.
The room really should be a single & the bathroom increased in size
Bathroom door opens directly onto one of the twin beds & you need to be extremely careful not to hurt any one’s feet or knees
Having said that the staff were lovely & very helpful. Hotel 3 mins walk to Paddington station trains, underground and buses. Lots of restaurants just around the corner. 10 mins walk from Edgeware Road.
Would like a breakfast option even a basic cereal and toast. Rooms very hot. Road outside quite noisy. Staff great. Luggage storage facility, location to Paddington 5min walk, and local cafes restaurants and corner shops on doorstep. Safe area.
We had a lovely stay in this hotel. Very friendly staff. Comfortable, clean room and toilet. Very close to Paddington station and shops. I highly recommend Royal Cambridge Hotel for family who would like to stay in affordable yet comfortable spacious rooms.
Unfortunately this was a really bad hotel to stay in. The bed was on casters, so if you sat on the bed or tried to sit up to watch TV , the whole bed moved. The shower was extremely hot, with no way to cool it down despite 2 visits by maintenance. It was advertised as having a bar and breakfast, but no bar or breakfast. They also advertised parking. Tjete was just 1 place outside which i managed to squeeze in, but again an additional charge. Quite a small room too, so i would not recommend staying in this hotel
