Perfect Trip Down Memory Lane

We all loved The Darlington! Our room was spotless, the staff welcoming and the location great! This property has quite a selection from our motel room in the newer building to cottages scattered around the property to the original inn rooms. Right at the foot of the boardwalk mean you are near everything right across the street from the beach but with the feeling of lots of open space. It's an easy stroll to lots of restaurants and amusements. They even had a welcome treat pack for our dog. We will be back!

The Inn was close to the beach and we had an Ocean View from the 4th floor room, stairs only, which was nipping clean and very comfortable, we took advantage and had a massive Queen bed each. I apologise that I didn't take the name of the lady who checked us in who was luvvly as was Geoff/Jeff who we dealt with all week, nothing was ever a trouble. Obviously an old building hence needs TLC but I wouldnt hesitae to use again, a little Inn with the personal touch in a great location, oh! Free Parking also.

Super cute and quaint! Location was close to the boardwalk and the ocean view from the balcony was a plus. The kitchenette had the necessities and helped us stay within our budget. The beds were soft and comfy! Our MaltiPoo got to stay with us so it really was a family vacation. The only downside was the stairs but, hey, exercise never hurt anyone and the view was worth it. The manager was very helpful and even called to make sure we weren’t having trouble finding the place. I do plan to return!!!!

Very pleasant stay. cottage house was very clean, decorated lovely nice and quiet. Just a short walk to the beach. And the young man at the front desk, I think he is the owner‘s son was very helpful and friendly with a wonderful attitude.

Best Value And Best Staff

I booked a quick trip for myself, my two daughters and my grandson. I had a reservation already booked at a large chain hotel, but decided to have a look at Hotels.com just to see if there were better options. I am very glad that I did. I had never heard of the Darlington, but the customer reviews were MUCH higher than any of the other Hotels. After staying there, I see why. It is a small, family owned hotel and the staff make you feel like family. They were all so nice and helpful, and I don't think that they ever stop working. The rooms were very clean. In fact, it was the first beach hotel that I have ever stayed in that did not smell like the beach! The beds were comfortable and the water pressure was great. Also, the price of the stay was so affordable. I am glad that I found them and would definitely recommend them to all friends and family. My new "go to" place at the beach. I almost forgot to mention that they have been in business FOREVER!

Pro: Just off boardwalk and beach. Great hosts. Very helpful and personable. Con: Very noisy cars and motorcycles reving engines, loud music, up and back on the strip. Window covers were small and broken mini blinds. Bright outside lights shined through like daylight. Needs light blocking curtains.

This is an older, efficiency style hotel across from the ocean. Room was clean and furniture in good repair. However, wi-fi was spotty, if it worked at all (was able to get service from another source). If you are looking for a quaint, older, family-style hotel at a more modest priced, this would be ideal. If you want more up-to-date amenities, would suggest looking elsewher.

Very clean and well maintained. Every room has a balcony facing the ocean. The beach is across the street and through a parking lot. A block and a half in the opposite direction is a Dollar General which has everything you might want or might have forgot. The rooms have a 4 burner atove, oven, microwave and full size refrigerator so you can cook for yourself to save some cash.

Everything I could want for a beach trip.

I took my 12 year old on a late vacation to North Myrtle. We spent most of our days swimming at the beach. I decided to add a day last minute to be able to take him to the boardwalk and Family Kingdom. I wanted somewhere clean, and preferably within walking distance to both spots. The Darlington Inn popped up within my searches, and seemed to be what I was looking for. After staying there, I’m so glad I found it! The owner was so kind and accommodating. I stopped in before check-in, just to ask if we could park there while we walked to the boardwalk. Then I’d come back at 4 to check-in. Since they had available rooms, and ours was already cleaned, she offered for us to check-in early. They are pet-friendly, and we met their dog as well as another visitor’s pup while getting our stuff to our room. Our room was pretty, and had a calm, beach vibe to it. The room was so much cleaner than the resort we stayed at in NMB! It had everything I could want when staying at the beach. The balcony faces the ocean, and the pool. Once situated in our room, we crossed the street to the promenade access. We were able to walk the few blocks to the Family Kingdom Saturday night. We got a good night’s sleep that night, and a nice shower before heading home yesterday morning. I wish we could have stayed longer, and been able to take a swim in the pool. Next time we go to the beach I would definitely stay here, and recommend it to anyone else.

I would recommend this inn to anyone. The room was very clean. The location is close to the ocean and the pier. The owners treated us very well. We will be back to stay anytime we are in town.
