Getting Around:
Walking is the best way to get around in the downtown New Orleans area and when you get tired, rideshare (Uber/Lift/KrewCar) and taxis are generally readily available. Or hop on one of our famous streetcars to see two major routes throughout the city. The St. Charles Ave. streetcars are Green and head away from downtown on St. Charles Ave, into the Garden District, where you will see the beautifully maintained mansions, passing Loyola and Tulane Universities, Audubon Park, and the Audubon Zoo. Red Streetcars travel along Canal Blvd. from the Mississippi River out to City Park. The streetcars are cash only, unless you buy a pass.

The Hop on Hop off tour buses circulate around some of the more popular areas of downtown and offer pickup every 30 minutes.

The Algiers Ferry is a fun way to get across the river. It runs from Canal Street to Algiers throughout the day. Algiers is small and very walkable. Enjoy a quick bite to eat or just enjoy walking through the historic houses.

Bicycle rentals are also a great way to get around and can be rented from various locations throughout downtown. There are bike rental options like Blue Bike with multiple locations throughout the city and tour companies that have guided bike tours.

Amazing Stay for Essence Festival 2025!

We had a fantastic experience staying at this beautiful condo during Essence Festival. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The unit was spotless, stylish, and fully equipped with all the amenities we needed for a comfortable and relaxing trip.Barbara, our main contact, was amazing—she reached out before and after our arrival to make sure we were comfortable and familiar with everything in the condo. She was super helpful, responsive, and incredibly personable, which made our stay even better.One of the standout touches was the optional concierge service—Candace picked up our groceries and stocked the fridge before our arrival for a small fee. That thoughtful detail made settling in so much easier after traveling.The beds were super comfortable, and there were plenty of fresh linens and towels. We loved gathering in the spacious main living area and around the kitchen bar—perfect for group bonding! The condo even included a large umbrella for the patio, which was a nice bonus for enjoying the outdoor space.Everything was just as described, if not better. We had a wonderful time and will absolutely stay here again on our next trip to New Orleans!

Best Possible Rental

Our family of 4 rented this property for a long weekend. It was absolutely perfect. Beautiful property, awesome location. The property manager was so helpful and kind, they left a lot of thoughtful supplies, and we used the concierge grocery delivery service before we arrived, which was fabulous. Highly recommend!

Great Stay

If you want to be close to the action but able to retreat, this is the perfect spot! Two blocks off Canal Street in the central business district, it was a simple stroll to everything from the WWII Museum to the French Quarter and everything in between. The apartment features two king size bedrooms with a ton of space to spread out, en-suite bathrooms (one with a shared door to the living area). The kitchen had plenty of dishes, glassware and silverware along with cookware. The hosts leave coffee, water, and essentials like salt and pepper etc. There is a family room with a tv, we never watched it, but if you did the sofa is good for two people and the chair is good for one - so if you have 4 in your party one person will be in a less comfortable plastic chair. The dining table has 4 chairs and there is also seating at the countertop bar. The apartment has a washer and dryer with soap for a load. The air con was good and necessary upstairs. They provided hairdryers and some “I forgot” soaps and shampoos, but don’t rely on that. There is no view out the windows - the balcony overlooks the trash alley, the first bedroom is a full interior room and the upstairs bedroom looks out onto a cement building facade with drainage. Even so there was nice daylight in the apartment upstairs and down. We were very happy there and the location was perfect.

Hidden Camp Street Gem!

We recently stayed here for JazzFest and picked it because of the proximity to the Sheraton Shuttle Stop. We were SO impressed. The unit was spotless and impeccably appointed with obvious attention to detail. (The pans and utensils were high quality, the towels thick and fluffy, and just beautifully decorated.) We checked out the P3 Bar/Restaurant next door and were delighted to have super friendly bartenders with probably one of the best espresso martinis I've ever had. The communication on arranging parking, arrival and departure was really great, and I very much appreciated the inclusion of what was stocked in the kitchen. It made packing much easier. Honestly one of the best VRBO's I've stayed in. We have already booked another trip for the fall. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

I was so impressed by this place—super clean, stylish, and well-kept! Communication with the host was smooth, and cleanup at the end was quick and easy, which made everything even better.Just a heads-up for future guests: the upstairs bedroom doesn’t have a door, but since it’s the only room up there, it didn’t bother our family—we just kept the noise down in the living room. The downstairs bedroom has an open section near the ceiling, so sound travels a bit. That said, we were in town for a festival and it worked out perfectly for our group!We couldn’t be happier with our stay and will definitely book again!

Great Find, Great Location, Great Place to Stay

We stayed at the VacayNOLA condo as a family of 3 (two adults and one elementary-age kid). Couldn't have asked for a better stay. The condo was beautiful and had all the amenities we needed. The location is an easy walk from Canal Street, French Quarter, several places to eat, and both streetcar lines. The condo was spotlessly clean and quiet. I'm glad we chose to stay west of Canal to avoid the noise of the Quarter. Barbara with VacayNOLA was so helpful and answered all of our tourist questions. Would definitely stay in that same exact spot again.

Perfect location to enjoy New Orleans and Mardi Gras

This property was just beautiful and in the perfect location to enjoy the Mardi Gras parades and visit New Orleans while still getting some sleep later in the very dark and quiet rooms. Communication with the host was the best we have ever encountered! Plus, our groceries for the stay were picked up and all put away when we arrived. Will definitely stay at VacayNOLA property again during a visit to New Orleans.

Loved our pre-SB stay in NOLA!

I love getting what is advertised and though that wasn't technically true in this case (unit shift at the last minute due to "force majeure"), it was still very true in the basic sense, meaning the location lived up to its billing. We were a stone's throw from all the action on Canal and just a 15-min walk from the FQ proper. The apartment itself was cozy and had all the modern amenities. REALLY appreciate Barbary's communication along the way while we checked in / out. If she'd have been less responsive, this might've been a pretty frustrating experience.

Vacay NOLA

We had a wonderful stay in NOLA! We were upgraded to "The Front Page News" apartment and it was absolutely perfect set up for our family of 4 (two 18-21 yo daughters). We loved the location close to Bourbon Street and the WWII museum and restaurants. Barbara was wonderful helping us preparing for our trip. We utilized the concierge service to have groceries delivered to the apartment prior to our arrival which was super convenient. I would definitely recommend this apartment and will look for it again when we return to NOLA.

Made the trip so much better

The property was great. It was convenient, had all of the amenities you could possibly want, including a balcony. It was clean and everything was in good shape. Location wise, super close to the Quarter, but not caught up in the chaos. There were a number of really good restaurants close by, a great neighborhood dive bar, and a nice little bodega for the essentials. Will definitely stay there again.

Great place and wonderful location!

This was exactly as pictured. It was clean and spacious and provided exactly what we needed. One bedroom on main floor and the other on the second floor. Both rooms were large with room to leave our suitcases and not be in the way. Each room has a full bathroom attached. The location is perfect as well. Walking distance to bourbon street, canal street, river walk and Caesar’s super dome. Great food options located in the surrounding areas for coffee, breakfast, lunch or dinner. The host was super communicative in the weeks leading up to our stay and gave great recommendations for tours, places to go and how to navigate the city. We’d happily stay here again!
