MAXIMUM overnight occupancy is the # stated in the reservation for up to 4 people (including infants/children). We rent to travel parties of 1-4 guests only! We live across the street and personally check-in guests. Any travel group that arrives with more than 4 guests will be turned away and will need to find other accommodations.

LIMITED, INFREQUENT daytime visitors of up to 2 people maximum. Over occupancy/use, day or night will result in removal from the property without a refund.

Stay in this beautiful, remodeled cottage located in the "sweet spot" of the Balboa Peninsula. Walk to all the best spots Balboa Peninsula has to offer! If booked, please consider Starfish Cottage's sister property The Dock Vrbo #1068212.

Typical Starfish Cottage Day: Walk 1 short block to the beach for sunrise, enjoy a cup of Keurig brewed coffee or tea on the large private front patio, shower in the elegant, cozy bathroom, watch your beloved team or movie on the 55" Smart TV in the living room or the 32" Smart TV in the bedroom, use provided beach chairs and boogie boards to get lots of sand between your toes, BBQ on the natural gas grill or walk a block maybe two to a fantastic restaurant, watch the sunset, and read followed by sleep on a comfortable clean bed. The next day hit repeat with a few changes for variety.

Details, Details: Micro split A/C that cools entire cottage, DIRECTV Ultimate Package plus movie channels, Fully stocked kitchen with granite countertops, Samsung stainless steel appliances, 1 bedroom with a California King bed and 32" TV, 1 bedroom with 2 TwinXL beds (same sleeping space per person as a King), the bathroom has custom tile and stone shower and granite top vanity with an ornate mirror above, private washer/dryer, high-quality linens provided, a starter set of soaps and paper goods included. Towels including beach, bath, hand and wash clothes plus kitchen towels provided. Large, private front patio with Weber natural gas BBQ, table with comfortable cushioned chairs (seats 4), storage chest that contains beach gear (4 beach chairs, umbrella, 2 boogie boards). Live plants accent the cottage inside and out. Come make some wonderful, happy memories at Starfish Cottage!

Over occupancy and/or noise levels affecting residents of Newport Beach are enforced by the City of Newport Beach Code and Law Enforcement 24/7. If a guest(s) over occupancy or noise levels result in a city fine, $1,000 minimum, the fine will be charged to the reservation. ALL guests will be immediately evicted.

Best suited for 1-4 guests including families with older children (8+) that enjoy meals, snacks, and drinks at the indoor or outdoor table.

NO PETS-pet allergy-free home due to family allergies

Out of respect for our neighbors, the patio closes at 10 PM. Our neighbors are not on vacation and their right to enjoy their homes is important!

There are friendly, quiet professionals that are long-term tenants in the back units of our home. You may never see or hear them but good to be aware they are on the property.

This is a fantastic location for a family of four to enjoy a cozy, inviting cottage right near the beach and close to restaurants and stores. Holly & Drew are fantastic hosts and go over and aboveboard to help you with anything you may need. Practically everything you may need for your BEACH STAY is just a hop, skip and leisurely walk away. Starfish Cottage is a hidden 5 star gem.

Starfish Cottage

Our stay at the Starfish Cottage was fantastic. The Cottage has upgraded kitchen and bathroom. The location was amazing with everything you could want within easy walking distance. We plan to stay there again next summer! I highly recommend the Starfish Cottage.

Exceptional stay!

We loved the cottage! Holly met us upon arrival and gave us some tips. The cottage was perfectly clean and had thoughtful touches including both coffee and tea, to go cups, pens and the like. We loved the location so close to the beach, grocery store and restaurants. We hope to return again soon!

This trip was perfect! We try to visit Newport Beach at least once a year. The home we normally rent wasn’t available. I’m so glad I find this one. It checked all our boxes. The Starfish Cottage is a great vacation rental! It is in an ideal location with everything you need within walking distance. The beach is only two blocks away. My communication with the Starfish Cottage owner was exceptional. They were very helpful and gracious. We have stayed at the Starfish Cottage two summers and hopefully will return next year as well. I highly recommend it.

Perfect Newport Beach spot

We had the best stay in Newport Beach and loved this place! Host had all the beach gear we needed (umbrella, boogie boards, chairs, and even beach towels!). Close enough to the beach that you can walk back to use the bathroom. Tons of restaurants within walking distance (Sancho’s Tacos was dangerously close!). Loved the K-cups that were supplied, too! Only bummer is street parking, but we never had an issue finding parking. Highly recommend!

Our favorite beach house

Dear Holly, Thank you for letting us stay in your star fish cottage! It was far better than we had hoped for! Location, decor, cleanliness and the comfortable beds were greatly appreciated! The beautiful sunset were also a plus! All the extra imenities you have provide were not unnoticed! Thank you for for such a memorable and fantastic vacation! A Truly 5-star Vacation Retreat

This wonderful cottage deserves a star for each of the star-fish's 5 arms. Perfectly furnished, with true feeling and empathy for the vacationer's needs, you won't find anything missing ; so much love for completeness and detail went into this cottage - it invites to stay, come back and live your dreams and needs of a stress-free, perfect vacation. Added to this is its perfect location - just a couple of minutes walk to beach, shops and restaurants. We truly enjoyed every minute of our stay and will most certainly be back - despite a 12-hours flight to get there. Thanks Holly and Drew

Piece of paradise!

The Starfish cottage is great! Holly is a lovely host and pays attention to small details in the house. Kitchen is fully stocked. Beach chairs, small cooler, umbrella, and boogie boards provided. There were bikes but we didn’t use them. Location is just 1 block from the beach, across the street from the grocery store, and walking distance to the pier. We had the perfect getaway for a long weekend!

Lovely Cottage Near The Sea

My wife and I traveled from the Mountains of California to this lovely cottage by the sea and what an experience it has been. The interior is beautifully decorated and the space is very well thought out. The Living Room, Dining Area, Two Bedrooms, and Full Kitchen are immaculate and comfortably furnished and accessorized. You can't help but to be instantly relaxed and refreshed. If you are looking for a retreat that is a stones throw from the beach this is the place to be. We look forward to returning one day for a longer stay....

Wonderful stay

The Starfish cottage is so cute. The location is one block from beach and within walking distance to shopping and restaurants. This has to be one of the cleanest VRBOs I have rented. The street is rather busy as it is a straight shot to a public beach access but it did not disrupt our stay. We enjoyed having morning coffee on front porch and watching people. The half front door was unique as the weather was perfect for open windows. We appreciated Holly’s communication and generosity. We will definitely consider staying here in the future.
