"Due to my short time in Paris, I prioritized a hotel for ease of transportation, with Gare Du Nord right across the street. This is a nice, quirky hotel. The staff at the desk were very nice. Great air conditioning!!! My room stayed cool at night during a heat wave. It's a nice touch to include the minibar, but mine was never fully stocked/restocked, despite asking. But the water on the first day was very nice. Housekeeping came and refreshed the room daily. I never tried breakfast because I had to leave so early in the mornings, but the dinner was nice. The area around Gare du Nord is interesting and has a lot going on, but the hotel can't help that. With its proximity, you spend little time walking around the area if you go straight from the station to the hotel. Lots of food options around if needed, including those at the station. A major con was that there were three guest elevators, and all of them stopped working while I was there, with no repair sight. Staying on the top floor, I had to carry heavy luggage down a lot of stairs. A staff member saw me on the 2nd-floor stairs and took the rest of the way in a staff elevator, so if I had asked, they probably would have taken the whole way. Would I stay again? For a short visit when proximity to Gare du Nord was needed, yes. For an extended trip, I think that would depend on what you value. I would probably look for a quiet, calm neighborhood. This was a good hotel though. I would recommend it if it fits your desires."
