"Pros: beautiful hotel, friendly and quick staff, great entertainment, this is seaweed season however the smell is only bad at first then your nose somehow adjust and you don’t smell it anymore. The resort can call taxis for you. Cons: A/C - the temperature is locked at 23 degrees Celsius which is 73 degrees Fahrenheit. You can turn the A/C up higher but not lower than 23C/73F. There is a ceiling fan however it is the summer time and it gets hot. Once your room gets to 23C/73F that’s it, so if you want your room colder keep this in mind. Dinner reservations - not all restaurants are open on the same day, you will not be informed about this while reserving for dinner, please ask on your first day so you’re aware. The Italian restaurant is not open on Sundays, you’re welcome."

"We reserved a bungalow and ended up requesting a room change due to rodant droppings on our bed after our first night. Once we were transferred to another room the hot water was not functioning and had to wait until the morning for maintenance to replace. The pool and the jacuzzi were not clean and we choose not to get in. We stayed a total of 8 days and 7 nights and did enjoy a cool room because the a/c functioned excellent. The housekeeping was also exceptional cleaning our room on a daily basis and made sure to restock what was needed except for one day but we managed. Our overall experience was good only things we would request would be a clean and inviting pool, better smelling rooms and a gate sensor to park car in garage without having to wait and get off to get someone’s attention to open gate."

"The reef 28 was an excellent choice to stay in Playa De Carmen. The only drawback we had Pool access was under construction, but there accommodating by upgrading us to breakfast at the Hotel. We enjoy the amenities at the hotel and the walking distance to Quinta Avenida to all shops and restaurants. We will be traveling back again later this year in 2026..! Viva Mexico 🇲🇽"
