Worst experience. My husband paid for my sister and I to have a girls night in Chicago. This host told me last-minute that they don’t accept third party payments. So we sent all the required documentation to fix it and still stay. Check in is at 3pm, I got a message at 2pm saying they had to cancel our reservation for “maintenance issues”. My sister then contacted the same host, same listing minutes after and asked if this place was available for the night and the host said yes. Needless to say we didn’t stay and will never book with this host again.

Disliked: Communication
The overall cleanliness of the property was good. Except if you open the door by the kitchen that leads out to the staff area. This area was filthy!! Chipping paint on the walls, very dusty! The shower handle was not working properly, the drain cover sticks to your feet when showering, and pulls up. We only had one towel per person for our entire stay. You have to go to their communal laundry area if you want a new clean towel! The communication on the day of our arrival was poor! I could not get their app to work for registration. I had to contact them a few times to request a different mode of registering. I asked for a call back, explaining that I was driving and they would need to call me. They did not call back. It was frustrating to have to call them several times to finalize our plans while I was driving solo. Once we were in the apt, management did respond well to my emails. Overall, we enjoyed our stay there, and the area is wonderful to visit. We do not want to sound critical, just honest with our experience.
Do not stay here. We booked this for three days after Christmas. The host began by texting and messaging on Christmas Eve, I received over 10 texts to gather nonsense information. I travel extensively for my job and I’m accustomed to staying in hotels weekly. These questions were not necessary, where are you traveling from? Why are you visiting? Just to name few. I then had to have a phone call. Very odd and not normal. She shared that the apartment was on the 3rd floor which is in the fine print. The carpet is about 30 years old and winkled, the front door is dirty, old shoes filled the hallway, the bathroom sink did not work for 2 days, the water in the shower was either too hot or too cold, there are no outlets in the kitchen and you must move the coffee maker to the floor to plug it in. The host said they would I send someone to fix the bathroom issues, they did not. I had to contact her again to see if the issues she said she’d fix were resolved. They were not. On our last full day someone finally fixed the issues.I asked for a refund and she refused to answer until I got VRBO invoked and she offered 25%. Awful experience. VRBO has been helpful and agrees we should receive a full refund. However, she is still refusing.
