I booked this hotel through Expedia, where it’s advertised as a 4-star property — but it felt much closer to a 1-star stay. While the room was clean, the hotel overall is very dated and in serious need of upgrades. The appliance and mechanical noise in the room made it hard to sleep, and the soundproofing was poor — I could hear noise from the hallway and adjacent rooms. I originally booked for three nights but checked out after the first night because the experience was so uncomfortable. We could not get any sleep due to how much noise the appliances made at night. I politely asked the hotel to refund the two unused nights — I was happy to pay for the first one — but was told no refund could be issued because I had booked through Expedia. I then asked for a receipt or invoice for the night I stayed (standard practice for any hotel), and even that was refused. They even refused to check me out saying that I was free to leave early, but they would keep me checked in for the duration of the booked stay. This seemed very sketchy. The front desk staff were generally professional, but the manager on duty (Mary-Ann) was rigid and lacking in empathy, which made the situation more frustrating than it needed to be. The hotel is located right in front of a strip club in a seedy part of downtown. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel, especially if you're expecting a modern or comfortable 4-star experience. There are much better options in Edmonton for the same price.

Upon arrival we were informed that we did not have a room, even after I contacted them and told them we would be checking in late. As a result, they offered me a room on the pet friendly suite… so.. what was I to do, we plugged our noses and dealt with the piss smell. My business that weekend didn’t go as planned, so after the first night, I contacted the front desk to let them know I couldn’t need the third night. They refused a refund. I won’t be staying at a coast hotel ever again.

Very nice hotel and had a very good experience

I am glad we choose this hotel for our family visit to Edmonton for the Victoria Day long weekend. We had a very good experience staying at this place. Good service, nice and clean. Very helpful staff. Kid enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Gym was good too. Very close to Jasper avenue and all the restaurants and bars close by. Would certainly rebook this for my future stay.

The coast is pretty standard - the staff is really what makes it. The area is a little sketchy and near Roger’s - very loud after a winning game. The fitness centre is older but does the trick
