Came with a group of my friends while takin a trip down Whyte. Staff were amazing and rooms are very nice. The only u fortunate part was that there was actually a millepede (or centipede I don’t know I’ve never seen one before) on our pillow! Luckily the staff of course offered us a whole new room for it but we did not get any accommodations or discounts for that happening.

Just ok

Check in was fine, but after the first night, my room was only partially cleaned and a soaking wet hand towel was left on my bedside table. After the second night my room was not cleaned at all and I had to mention it to the front desk. They did not offer an apology but it was cleaned properly when I came back in the evening. Overall the hotel is fine, generally clean, and I would stay again, but don’t really expect anything in the way of service or hospitality.

The hotel is ok. The room was fine, but getting charged 25$ for parking at checkout for one nights stay should be an up front disclaimer. If you desire the location on Whyte Ave then great but I’d have stayed elsewhere if I knew that.

I paid for lunch at ampersand (restaurant in hotel) with my credit card. When checking out I was charged again for the meal I had already paid for. I pointed this out to staff and they agreed to remove the charge. Upon getting home I discovered that they had charged me anyways. I am baffled by this malicious incompetence on their part, so I will not be staying at the Varscona again.
