Words aren't enough to express how much I love staying at the HRH. Everyone is amazing, they make the lobby feel like your front porch, the rooms are so comfortable. First time in a suite this time and the full kitchen helped out because the food in Hood River is great. Try them all, spend a week, the pictures and your blog won't do the experience justice. We'll be back, hope you will too.

The toilet got clogged early in the morning. My husband went to the front desk at 6:30 am to ask for a plunger. The attendant couldn’t find one so we had no choice but to leave the room super early in the morning 7:30! She offered no apologies for our inconvenience. I’ve even emailed the hotel asking for a partial refund and they haven’t replied.

The room was great, clean and comfortable. The only hang up is parking. You need to pay for parking and can only pay for 3 hours at a time. Other than that, we loved being able to walk and explore the town.

The only issue is the parking, you have to find a spot on the street. We were lucky that it was during the week and we could park close. A weekend might be a different issue.

Excellent staff, however, the dining option in the hotel was limited. We booked a room with a river view and it was a bit noisy on that side of the hotel, plus the historic older windows do little to block sound. Overall a charming place, updated beautifully but retains it's historical character.

I booked a Roof Top Garden Room. What I got was a room that overlooked a puddle on the roof and something that I suppose at one time had been a flowerpot with flowers. Nothing in it now! Giant puddle with mosquitoes and a white PVC pipe coming from somewhere going thru puddle. Window was so old it wouldn't open also wouldn't lock! Floor in room was so crooked you fell towards window when you got up. No chair in room so your only seating option was always on bed. Left 2 days early. Tried to find someone to leave keys with at desk and after waiting 10 minutes decided to just leave. Upon checking in receptionist couldnt get rid of me fast enough. Gave me key, pointed to elevator and that was it. She was able to state I needed a credit card for $100.00 deposit! As a former travel agent I've stayed in all sorts of hotels around the world and have to say this was over all worst. Its needing help. From over all maintenance to staff. No one seems to care, and it shows!
